Chapter 9 - Goodbyes

(Skip to Saturday)

Well today is the day. I spent all of yesterday with Daniel in preparation for today, I still can't believe he won't be around here as much anymore and how grown up he has gotten in a matter of a few days. I walk across the room to my bedroom door and put my forehead against it trying to hold back tears, gripping onto my shirt. ''Sammy! help bring the boxes down!'' I hear my dad shout probably at the bottom of the stairs. I pause with my hand around the door handle for a while then I exit my room. Picking up a box I almost drag my feet down the stairs and out to the car, I can see the faded tears in my mum's eyes as she try's to fake a smile at me. 

''Sammy?'' I turn to see Daniel holding a cap, its his favourite, black with a white strip on the front. He believes it lucky and always has and probably always will. ''Dan'' I reply trying not to sound upset. ''I want you to keep this, sis'' He puts the cap backwards on my head making sure not to catch my hair, it makes me smile. He then pulls me in for a hug. ''I'll have no one to bother now'' his voice quivers a little. ''Who can I blame things on now'' I reply back using a play on tone. We laugh before releasing the hug. ''I'm gonna miss you'' I speak in a quieter tone and he so he reply's ''I'll miss you too, I'll come visit'' He smiles and pats me on the shoulder before going back to the house to gather the rest of his stuff. 

I hear my phone ring, its Robbie. ''Hey Robbie'' I answer with a crooked tone. ''I wanted to make sure your okay'' his accent echoes through the phone softly. I don't want this to turn into something cliche where I say something like 'oh everything will be okay in the end, he will return' or something like that because hes only moving away not dying. ''Yeah I'm okay, er, would it be okay if you came over?'' I ask whilst walking back to the house. ''Yeah thats fine, I'll come over soon just need to do a few things'' we then say goodbye and hang up, I slip my phone back into my pants pocket. 

''Well thats everything'' Mum looks like shes completed a life goal. Time to say our goodbyes. ''Me and your father wish you luck Daniel, time has flown by hasn't it'' She still looks pretty okay which isnt much since my dad is the softy in this family, he has 'manly' tears streaming down his face. That trait must have wiped off on Daniel because he also has some 'manly' tears. ''Bye you big baby, don't get hurt'' I chuckle at him as he has a pretend angry expression, my eyes have tears as well but I can hold them back better. ''Bye my baby sister'' he grabs the cap and puts in over my face. Me and our parents watch him get into his car and wave goodbye, boxes filling the windows. I can hear my dad blubbering behind me. ''Have fun'' I whisper just enough so no one can hear me and then we all go inside, me taking one last look behind myself (I know thats kind of cliche but shush).

Robbie's P.O.V

''I'm going to Sammy's'' I yell to my parents then rushing out of the door to my car. After getting in and setting off I get stopped by stop lights and recognise the car next to me. Its Daniel. He notices me staring and waves, he has a tear rolling down his cheek. I smile and wave back and mouth the words goodbye to him. He looks confused for a moment then catchs on and does it back. I know he is moving out of town which is okay with the movie being done and all but he was like a close friend to me, I don't have many friends in this town apart from Sammy who is my girlfriend. When the light turns green he goes before me allowing me to see the boxes in the back then I turn into where he came out. To Sammy's house. 

Once getting there I knock on the door and are almost instantly greeted by Sammy, we hug tightly and deeply for a while before going inside.

(This one is kinda short and not much of Robbie but he will be invovled more don't worry! I've had too much homework lately for revision and I have a collage interview soon so I'll write some chapters in preperation for that as I won't have a lot of time to write.
