Hello everyone! Welcome to this book! I don't know how else to say that...Anyways! I've worked so hard on this book so far, and to do that, I had to pull 4 all nighters to make it the best I can make it. But never mind that. I was told that I had to write this book because 'The Fate of the World depended on it.' According to my ELA class. I don't know why to be honest.
But I am kind of proud of this book so far, it has a good plot, characters that I was actually able to come up with, even though I asked for some oc's...Thank you for the oc(s) though! But enough of this, and on with the book! I hope you enjoy, Heroes of Yesterday!
????????'s POV:
My heart was pounding. My ears were ringing. My lungs felt like they were on fire. The trees in the forest seemed blurry as I raced past them. I came to an abrupt stop and hid behind a nearby oak tree. My lungs felt like they were about to burst.
'I need to do something about this'
For two months, I had been on the run. Yet somehow she found me.
Out of nowhere, an arrow suddenly flew past my hiding spot and hit the tree in front of me.
'Oh no, she found me'
"Come on out!"
I didn't move. "I know you're behind that tree." I stayed silent. "What's the matter? Are you scared, Blazesky?"
I stared at the arrow at the arrow in front of me. My pursuer began to laugh. "Oh I get it. You're afraid of your own friend. What a shame."
"I'm not afraid of you Midnight!"
"Then why don't you come on out and say hello to your friend.""I'm not falling for your stupid tricks again!" I wasn't going to fall for her tricks, not again. I stayed where I was. She snickered darkly. "You know, it just pains me to see that my own friend won't even come out to say hello to me. It truly breaks my heart." She murmured sadly, but with a hint of corruption in her voice.
I felt a small wave of pity for my former friend. Before remembering what she did to the rest of us. I clenched my fists in anger. "But did it pain you to trap Storm and Rain in one of your little glass ball prisons?"
Midnight laughed menacingly as she pulled out Storm's prison. "Oh it did. It was very heartbreaking to see that they refused to join me." She put away Storm's prison. "You can still join me, you know.." She took a small step towards my tree. "We can rule the world. No one shall stand in our way! Everyone who ever doubted you will see your true potential!"
Storm's words echoed in my head.
(I came home at 1:10 in the morning from Tennessee and I got 5 hours of sleep so plz bear with me if some parts are a little strange..)
'A Hero's Journey will have the rises and the falls. There will be people who doubt you, but that doesn't mean that you failed.'
I reached for the locket around my neck and held it tightly.
"Join me or seal your fate!" Midnight was only inches away from my tree.
"I..I won't!" I drew out my bow and arrow, and stepped out from behind the tree. I fired my arrow at her. Catching her by surprise and causing her to stumble backwards. She dropped her satchel with her glass ball prisons. I put away my bow and went for an empty glass ball and grabbed it. Only to be tackled and knocked to the ground by Midnight.
"I gave you a choice Blazesky." She sneered into my ear as she held me to the ground. I knew what I had to do now. There was no other way.
"I know, and it's because I must! Not because I can!" I lifted the glass ball into the air, and smashed it into the ground. Indigo smoke began to rise from the green grass.
"No, NO. NOOOOOO..." Midnight's voice faded as she was sucked into the very thing she swore to capture me in.
I smiled and sighed with relief. I sat up and held onto the locket. I watched the leaves on the branches of the tree's around me sway in the gentle breeze. Birds were singing their pretty songs. The setting sun cast long shadows in the forest around me. It felt like all this weight was finally lifted off my shoulders. The world could finally be safe from everything.
But if anything did happen, I know that a new Hero will rise with her own story, her own chapter. I know it.
I felt myself begin to fade. Yellow smoke rose from the ground. I held tightly on the locket.
"Like you said Storm. Every step begins a journey, and this one is for us."
I sighed with relief as I completely faded away in the yellow smoke.

OH MY GOD I FINISHED THE PROLOGUE. I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. This story took SO LONG to plot and make because I haven't done a story like this one before so it's a little harder than what I'm used to...But like I said, this story was inspired...or told to be written by my ELA class, I still don't get it why Drew made me write this...
But Drew if you read this, I think we're saving the world right now-
But anyways! I'm going to go work on CHAPTER ONE! Yeah that's right! I'm already writing it! I had a lot of time to write it on the way home from Tennessee so it's like, halfway done! So, I'm gonna go finish writing Chapter one and then start the editing! So by everyone and have a great rest of your day/ night!
