Just to start off I wanted to say that the idea of this novel Risky Business came from a book that I became completely obsessed with called The Bet by Jenny Crusie which I must say is a great book and a wonderful story. It is completely worth the read and, I hope that you my dear readers love my version of a wonderful story. Hope you like it!

I sat down at the bar at the Studio 54 and watched some people grinding on the dance floor to the latest Kesha song. I looked over at Jayden Wood, my boyfriend of four months he wasn't bad looking he had short blond hair, brown eyes and was a bit on the boring side. I looked at him order a rum and coke as he paid the short bartender and, looked over at me. "Was there any reason that we're alone from our friends?" He sighed and, looked it my eyes "yes there is a reason. Scarlet I just don't think that we're working out"? My eyebrow raised out of impulse and, I asked him "any reason why we wouldn't be working out?" Of course we aren't working out Jayden, you have a stick so far up your ass that your hardly the romantic type. But non the less you think I would sleep with you within only a month of dating. "Scarlet," I looked at him looking into those plain brown eyes of his as he went on "I just think that we're at two different stages of our life. That we just don't mesh."

He looked at me as if I was to break down and, beg him to stay with me but, sadly I was not that person and to be honest not that interested in him. "So let me get this straight we don't mesh because I won't sleep with you? And your stinking male pride doesn't like that right?" He furrowed his eyebrows and took a sip of his drink. "Of course that's not the reason why." "Yeah well it was really nice knowing you for a month and, I hope that you enjoy the rest of your life."

I picked up my drink of vodka and cranberry and my black clutch bag and, walked over to Patience and, Rayne. As soon as I managed to get past the dance floor which was crowded with people dancing to a song, that I didn't recognize I heard Rayne ask "what did Jayden do now"? I walked over to her leaning against the wall next to her then drank the rest of my drink before saying "You see Rayne he dumped me. Not that I actually care, to tell you the truth I found him quite boring". "I was waiting to hear you say that." Then Patience spoke up "then as sad it is that he dumped you, it just means that he wasn't the one." I looked at Rayne who rolled her eyes and, then responded with "that's just crap. And Scarlet dear you need a man that'll keep you mesmerized someone that will keep things interesting."

I looked at my drink just remember that I drank it all "you guys want to go to the bar, think I'm going to need a few of these." Patience nodded and, Rayne just began to walk towards the bar. I followed her looking at her tight black jeans, and tight red halter top with black stilettos. Jayden never would have left Rayne or even Patience. It's always me they leave. Like seriously guys I am not that overweight! When we arrived at the bar, I ordered one vodka and cranberry and, three tequila shots. Then Rayne and Patience ordered there drinks. Patience sent me one of her motherly looks that said I know your not drinking all of those. I paid for our drinks Rayne getting a beer, and Patience getting a wine cooler then sliding a tequila shot to Rayne. "Ready, set, go" said I. Me and Rayne then drank our shots at the same time and, then chased it with our drinks. Then I looked at the other one and, then to Patience before sighing and, drinking it too.

"You know what you need Red?" I drank some more of my vodka and cranberry before asking her "What?" "You need someone to keep things interesting not someone that has a stick up his ass." "And you think that you can find one for me?" "Scarlet you don't have to listen to her, your prince will show up." "Waiting around, never helped anyone. Go ahead and pick someone Rayne"? Her eyes skimmed the bar while there were distinct murmurings of no, no, no, maybe, no, no, then "he'd be perfect"? I rolled my eyes and, called the bartender to get me another vodka and cranberry. Then I drank back mine paid the bartender then said, "Who"? "Look across the bar at the man that is dressed in a light blue dress shirt he's at the right side of the guy in the red dress shirt." "I see him" as I looked him over I said "very nice! But he wouldn't go out with someone like me?" A real shame though, he's looks full of excitement, very rogue, rough yet approachable. Just not to a girl like me. Patience looked at me with her blue eyes and, said in a angry tone which she never does, "Why not? What exactly is wrong with you"? "Well you see I'm a bit overweight and men like that want girl's like Rayne". Rayne rolled her eyes then said "Red you need a change, you date the same boring men and think that there right for you. Take a chance go and talk to him." "No I couldn't, he would just say no" Rayne turned me around to face her, when I looked at her I could see her eyebrows furrowed and, she muttered darkly "if you do not go and talk to him I will get Patience to help me throw out all of your stuffed animals."
