Ivy's POV

I walked down the street, I passed Ben's house wondering how a house could look that average, yet be home to one of the most spectacular people in existence.

I slowly continued my walk, wondering why I even decided to walk to school in this fall weather biting at my feet and nose. I just didn't want to sit in the back of the car, listening to conversations between Hailey and Piper that I wasn't a part of. They somehow thought I either lost my sense of hearing miraculously, or just wanted to feel like a third wheel.

All day they had been super close, making me wonder what weird things must have happened last night.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was warm and relaxing, even if it had been a murderer on the other side I still would have done anything said he asked me.

"You sure do like staring at my house." Ben teased.

"Hey! I'm sure if house staring was a sport, I'd take the cake." I retorted.

"Fair enough" he assured.

"My friend Owen is having a party on Saturday night, your friends and you should come." he reported.

"Sure," I uttered, trying to hide the excitement.

"Hey," he said changing the subject, "I'm sorry again for voting you into ASB. I thought you could do a good job."

"It's okay," I replied, "I'm sorry for nominating you. I was giving you a taste of your own medicine."

"It's cool," he responded, "but this means it's ON during free PE today. Prepare to be beaten at football"

"Oh, please," I replied snarkily, "I'm so scared of your amazing skills."

The rest of the walk consisted of playful trash talk.

Hailey's POV:

As I approached the table, I was soon engulfed in the conversation, "Do you guys want to go to Owen's party?" Ivy asked.

"Wait," Piper observed, "Owen's going to be there?"

"I assume so, considering it's at his house and he planned it" I declared. "Why? Do you like him?"

"I don't know" she responded, in a daze, "I need a rebound and he is cute."

I nearly scoffed, Piper was so clueless when it came to actually liking guys. But hey, most girls were.

"What about you Hailey, anyone you want to see. Maybe Jake."

At the moment I'd been mid-bite into an apple, and it didn't make it down after that absurd comment. I choked on the damn thing, and kept coughing. I took a sip of my water.
