Thirdy woke up feeling somebody jumped on his bed. When he opened his eyes, he saw Bea.
"Ang aga aga andito ka na agad?" Thirdy teased.
"Ayaw mo? Ano, dahil hindi na ako ikakasal ayaw mo na ako makasama?"
"Arte mo!" He told her sabay hampas ng bolster sa hita nito.
"Busy ka today? Husband to be duties?" Bea teased.
"Hindi, wala dito lang sa bahay ngayon. Wala ka gagawin?"
"Andito ako diba, eh di ibig sabihin wala. Next week pa training." Bea said.
"Mabuti! Tara breakfast tayo tapos tulungan mo ako magdecide."
"Magdecide para saan?"
"I've been thinking about my own wedding."
"O eh bakit sa akin ka nagtatanong?"
"Alam mo, ikaw talaga eh noh."
"Thirds, I am on the other end of the situation, bestfriend kita, hindi mo pa ba gets?" She said and rolled here eyes.
"How did you come up with that decision so fast?" Thirdy wondered.
"I've never cheated all my life, well, sa school siguro," she said as she remembered. "Ah basta, I just don't think I can still trust him with my life, alam mo un?"
"But what about compromise, making amends, forgiving, kasi mahal mo sya?" Thirdy started to debate with her.
"Mahal ko pa din naman sya up until that day I "postponed" the wedding, and maybe until now but it's not enough anymore."
"Bakit hindi?" Thirdy asked her.
"Thirds, alam mo, in a marriage there has to be love, respect and trust. Obviously wala na ung respect kasi pinairal nya ung demon ng laman nya. And besides, he already did that once, ano ang guarantee ko na hindi na nya gagawin? Ayokong dumating ako sa point that I would question myself, 'am I never enough?' I won't do that to myself, because I know, sa tamang tao, I'm enough."
Thirds nodded, repeatedly.
"I don't know, I can't decide, diko alam gagawin ko."
"Ano ba gusto mo?" Bea asked him.
"Ikaw." Thirdy said softly but Bea still heard him.
"Bakit ako, it's your life, kung kaya mo mawork out yan kay Julia, then go ahead and marry her."
Thirdy looked at her.
"Ikaw ang gusto ko!"
Bea looked at him. What he said puzzled her.
"What did you say?"
"I like you, Bea, I love you even, more than a friend."
"Wait, why does it have to be about me now?"
"I love Julia but it wasn't enough to really marry her. I just asked her to marry me because you were getting married. I thought I lost my chance."
"Teka nga, ginugulo mo ako."
"I have loved you, Bei, for a long time. Long before I left for Japan, nung mga bata pa tayo."
"So, why are you telling me now?"
"I want a lifetime with you, not just as your bestfriend. When you said you and Jigs were getting married, I asked Julia to marry me. I don't want to think na nag fail ako to have you and then came the cheating and then you canceling your wedding."
"You're not canceling your wedding because of me, are you?"
"I could have opted to still marry her but you said so many things the last time na pinag isipan ko. Maybe it was the universe trying to correct our decisions."
Bea just looked at him, intently. She didn't know what to say.
"We can make this work, diba, you and I, we can be more than friends?"
"God, Thirdy, why do you talk to me about this when I'm at my most vulnerable?"
"Okay, I'm sorry. Sige, ahmm why don't you think about it. May kakausapin lang ako, puntahan kita later?"
Bea didn't say anything and just gave him a hug, rubbed his back.
"I'll see you."
Thirdy went straight to Julia's condo. He just wanted this to be over and done with that he was not able to call her anymore. He thought if she's not there, chances are nasa bahay sya with her Ate. Nevertheless, tumuloy pa din sya sa condo.
Nagulat sya nung makita sya si Jigs nakaakbay kay Julia.
"So, hindi ka pala natinag na hindi ka na papaksalan ni Bea?" He pointed his question to Jigs while looking at Julia.
"Thirds, love, wait."
"Gusto ko kayo sapukin na dalawa pero wag na lang, sayang lakas ko at kamao ko. I'm glad this happened, napadali mo gagawin ko, Julia. Magsama na lang kayo ni Jigs, wala akong panahon makipaglokohan syo." He said and turned his back.
Julia grabbed his arm.
"Love.."
Pumiglas si Thirdy sa pagkakahawak ni Julia.
"Save yourself, Julia. Cancel the wedding because I won't be there."
