The Day
October 10, 2013: We were waiting for him since morning. Aanya had ordered some flowers for him. She was very excited and anxious to meet him. There were police and security staff all over the place since morning.
Few Years Back
June 15, 2011: A bright, sultry day. I was on my study table writing an article for my school magazine as I had topped the school, which was to be featured in the next edition. I had already got admission in one of the top institutes of Mass Communication in Delhi and was fully prepared for further studies. I was damn excited and anxious to join the college and meet new people-cum-friends.
Days passed by and finally it was 16th August 2011 when I entered the college premises (IMC, Delhi). Faintheartedly I went into the classroom, confronted unknown faces with high ego and unnecessary attitude... It was the beginning of a new phase of my life. It was the best time to forget my ex and move to "Y".
Our classes began the next day following basic intro of everyone and I had my charm all over the department. Yes, I am a bit handsome and girls are somewhat crazy about me. And the best part was that I never cared for anyone of them.
New faculties and our seniors were the best one can dream of. Time passed by, I got along with all including faculties and started opening up with them. My inner soul pumped up and rose up to where it was in the school days. Playing pranks, asking stupid questions, joking, laughing had become my life.
We enjoyed with friends in the canteen and continued gossiping in the lectures. Sitting for long hours on facebook, chatting with old friends had become a hobby. Visiting new places was the very memorable part. I Wrote articles, completed assignments, and so forth. A semester passed by and those were the fastest six months ever in my life. Everything passed by like a fraction of light.
Delhi to Mumbai
Feb 8, 2012: I still remember the day. It was our first day of our 2nd semester and I was busy flirting with Mani when we got the news of scholarship to study in Mumbai for the next 2 years. No doubt I was very busy but my eardrums couldn't miss the word, "MUMBAI". Since childhood, I was curious to go out of Delhi, no matter what. And I thought it was my golden opportunity to do so, but...
It was declared that only students having 70 % or above in academics were eligible for this scholarship and I could hardly manage 64% in my 1st semester. All my dreams were shattered and I was feeling hopeless. I was a good photographer in my college (rather the best one) but it didn't help either.
Usually I was sent to cover all the functions and events held in the college. Ya, it does create a good impression on teachers. So I was sent for photography for this big event too. There was an interview to be conducted by the college officials and I had to be happy with this. I was very annoyed as all my attempts to win favor of the faculties were in vain and I was deprived of this SCHOLARSHIP!
It was 15th of February, just after an unpleasant Valentine's Day. I went to college for photography of the scholarship event. 14 out of 39 were selected for the interview and 3 names were to be finalized of them all.
The interview began at sharp 10 am. Everyone went in one by one, dressed up well as if they had come to see their girl for marriage. They were looking funny and hilarious. 2 out of 12 were already selected and I was waiting for the last one to complete so that I can leave the building and run back home. And the third one was also selected soon. This all ended around 1 pm. I quickly deposited the camera to Tushar sir and left.
The next day when I reached college, I saw something different! Everyone was congratulating me (it never happened in last 7 months). I was a bit surprised about this abnormal behavior of my friends and batch mates. They told me to meet the chairman as soon as possible. I ran quickly towards her chamber in order to wait for her arrival. I was very curious to know the reason; maybe I was appointed the new president of the college or something else like that because the president of the college was already selected for the scholarship. There were several thoughts which were going through my mind at that time.
