The sun light shone brightly down on Kirishima's face, his half asleep body now starting to stir.
'We definitely need to hang those black out curtains today.'He thought to himself, as he lazily rolled onto his side. His eyes started to flutter open as he heard a soft buzzing sound.
'My phone?'
He glanced over to nightstand, but saw Bakugo's phone light up, still buzzing on the counter top. Kirishima glanced down, blinking a few times in hopes of focusing his vision.
Kirishima almost didn't recognize Bakugo, his face completely relaxed while he slept. His normally spiked hair, was now messy yet relaxed, pieces falling over one of his eyes. Kirishima resisted the urge to push the ash blond hairs away from his friends face, heat creeping up in his face.
'Bakugo. My bro. Right. Sharing a dorm.' He told himself, trying to muster the courage to wake his friend.
Kirishima reached out and touched Bakugo's shoulder, shaking him slightly. "Hey, your phone's going wild man. Might be important."
Bakugo's eyes flew open, sitting up abruptly. He scanned the room before his eyes meeting with Kirishima's. "What the hell?" He asked the red head, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"I think your phone's going off." Kirishima repeatedly, nodding his messy red hair over towards the nightstand.
Bakugo paused, taking a glance over at the television. It was still on.
'Crap. I passed out and missed my session. My old lady's gonna kill me.'
Bakugo flung the familiar navy blue comforter off himself as he swung his legs over the side of the bed, reaching for his phone.1 missed call and 5 unread text messages from Mom
Mom: Don't forget about your appointment tonight.
Mom: Ichika says you missed your class, AGAIN. What the hell?
Mom: Why do I bother paying for these lessons for you if you're not even going to show up?
Mom: Seriously, Katsuki, if you don't even bother logging on, then you're just wasting our money. I doubt you've been wearing your aids.
Mom: I know this hasn't exactly been easy, but at least try to meet me half way, kid. Log in on Monday.
Xoxo"Tch. Hag." Bakugo rolled his eyes, before stretching his arms above his head. As he got up, he closed the laptop and turned off the television. He turned back around on his heels, eying Kirishima on his bed.
"What?" Bakugo asked. Kirishima watched him carefully, before straightening out the sheets and comforter on his side. "I said, I'll make the bed, probably get dressed and then head down for a bite to eat. If you wanted to come with me?" Kirishima didn't take his eyes off Bakugo, and he felt a slight blush creep up his face. "You sure you're alright man, you just seem off?" Kirishima fluffed his pillows and placed them back down on his side of the bed, still watching Bakugo.
Bakugo huffed, breaking his gaze off his friend and rummaging through his dresser for clothes. "I'm fine. Im just annoyed I'm gonna have to go up there and make breakfast cause I know damn good and well those extras can't cook. I want waffles."
Kirishima let out a breath he hadn't even realized he was holding, before chuckling.
'I'm just paranoid. Everything seems fine. I'm just over reacting.'
But he couldn't help but feel like something was off.

About an hour later, Kirishima was washing the dishes from breakfast, Bakugo at his side putting away the now clean waffle iron. "I still can't believe how much freaking cinnamon you put in your waffles, Bro. It's insane!" Kirishima chuckled, elbowing him playfully. "You weaklings just can't handle the spice! How have you never added it to your batter before?" Kirishima felt almost fixated on Bakugo, watching as he folded the hand towel neatly and slug it over the oven door handle. "No, never. Thanks again though, it was fantastic!" Kirishima replied, his eyes narrowing. Bakugo smirked, but it didn't seem to meet his eyes.
"Kirishimaaaaa!" A familiar voice sang through the new temporary kitchen space. Both boys turned around to see a spunky pink alien princess lean her elbows on the island counter. "How's the dorm? I see you're still in one piece so Blasty hasn't completely annihilated you yet." She smirked, and then spoke a bit softer, leaning towards Kirishima. "No really, how's everything going?" Kirishima felt his ears get hot and he glanced over at Bakugo, who seemed to be heading back to the elevator. "Fine, Mina. Everything's fine ." He emphasized, gulping. She wiggled her eyebrows at him before laughing, pushing herself off the island and dancing her way over to his side. "A few of us were going to hang out in the common room later, wanna come chill? It sucks being cooped in the dorms." Kirishima nodded, losing sight of Bakugo. "Yeah, I'll see if Bakugo wants to hang out, too. Shoot me a text, yeah?" The pink haired girl smirked again. "Of course, can't forget about your friend." Kirishima tried to play off an eye roll, but was praying she didn't see how red his face got as he jogged over to the elevators.Bakugo grumbled to himself as he broke down the last of his boxes, stacking them against the wall.
'This is about as good as it gets, I guess.'
Bakugo thought to himself, pulling out his desk chair. He opened one of the desk drawers, fumbling around until he felt his headphones. He opened his laptop and plugged in his headphones, and then felt someone staring at him. There stood his friend, just a couple feet away, smiling at him. Bakugo watched Kirishima as he talked, before realizing he zoned out.
"Uh, sorry. What?" The blond asked, taking an earbud out of his ear.
Kirishima blinked, chuckling nervously as he scratched the back of his neck. "Game night in the common room later this afternoon if you're interested. I guess everyone feels a little claustrophobic sharing rooms." Kirishima eyed him curiously, and Bakugo noticed. "Yeah, I think I'll hang out here. I'll catch up on studying or something."
"Oh." Kirishima replied, glancing down at the floor. "If you're studying math, do you mind helping me out? I can hang back with you, I'm not feeling super confident in this last lesson."
"No, I'm not. And I'll probably just go for a run or something, too. Don't bother." Bakugo replied, shoving his earbud back in his ear and grabbing a text book from the bottom drawer of the desk.
Kirishima was a little taken back, chewing on the inside of his cheek before giving the blonde a simple nod. "I'll uh, go see if Mina needs help setting up or anything then. See ya." And headed out the door, closing it softly behind him. Bakugo waited to see if Kirishima would return, and after a few minutes, finally felt like it was clear. He sighed, rubbing his temples before searching something on his computer. Groaning, Bakugo clicked on the bright yellow icon that read SIGN LANGUAGE LESSON 9 and began studying.Author's notes:
Hi! I'm working on making my chapters longer so it helps everything flow more. I'm hoping for more of a slow burn, I have several ideas I want to add to this head canon I have, but don't want to cram anything or rush it.
Please let me know what you think!
