What should I write for you dear friend of mine?
What can I write that you have not read before.
I can write of the days we had;
I will cry for the days we lost.
What should I write for you
that has not been written before.
I do not believe in Heaven, neither did you.
I cannot ask you to stay, nor would you accept.
You had your beliefs, not dissimilar to mine.
They have taken you far, to a place grander than this.
If we see each other again, I shall write that we were right.
All scars heal in time,
a burn will leave a mark,
a tear will need stitching
a memory will disappear.
Do not tell me it will make everything alright.
Life will go on, I know.
It will not stop on our account,
neither shall death, nor birth,
nor stars, nor storms.
Life will go on, I know.
