My Belated Apology - Hyuga Neji x OC Fanfiction

Chapter 5

The reason why I don't use fanart for my book is that I can't ask for permission from the artists, I always receive a 'no' T.T. So I use pictures cut from anime instead :D

Neji's POV

"Ura Renge?" Lee asks. Lee has turned into a mini Guy-sensei, another weirdo...

"Yes!" Guy-sensei does a nice-guy pose. "I will teach you all this technic!"

"But we couldn't learn 'Omote Renge' back then, except for Lee! I'm afraid that this time we can't, neither." Tenten protests.

"It's okay! You can learn something to improve your taijutsu!"

We are all exhausted after the training session. The sun is setting. It's that late, huh. Guy-sensei hugs Lee crying.

"You nearly did it, Lee! My youthful student!"

"Lee... good... job...!" Shiyuki tries to pay Lee a compliment. We're all totally tuckered. How can Lee still jump, jump and scream in happiness like that?

"It's late, go home and take a rest, my youthful student! It's 6 pm now! Tomorrow we'll burn in the power of youth again!!" Guy-sensei finally releases us.

"Shiyuki? You don't come back home?" Lee's question makes me turn back to see what's happening. Shiyuki is still there, in the training ground. Isn't she tired? Should she take a break?

"It's nothing, Lee! Go home please, I wanna stay here a bit longer."

"O-Okay. See you tomorrow."

What is Shiyuki up to? She wants to practise more, doesn't she? With that exhausted condition? She will collapse soon! Those wonders go back and forth in my mind as I have dinner. Is she okay? Has she come home? Can she still come and practise tomorrow morning? Perhaps I'll go check it out.

After finish dinner, I come back to the training ground. From a distance, I hear her voice.

"Water Style: Water Bullet!" She is still practising?!

"Wind... Style: Propelling... Winds...!" Seems that she is already tired.

I come closer to watch her. There's a heavily panting Shiyuki together with some large puddles and branches from the trees all around on the ground. It's beyond her ability to do this after Guy-sensei's exercise... I know that Shiyuki really wants to be an amazing ninja, but she doesn't have to force herself like this. Am I wrong to think that she is weak-minded...?

"Neji-kun! What are you doing there?" Her voice startles me.

"You haven't come home yet? Are you tired?"

"Wow, Hyuga Neji is caring about me!" She laughs, somewhat painfully, somewhat ironically. Why is she like that? I can't understand.

"Don't get it wrong. We were all worn out, why are you still trying to practise more?" She falls. "Hey! You okay?! Stop pushing yourself hard, otherwise you will collapse like this." I help her stand up. "You must be hungry."

"Thank you." She grins, mimicking Guy-sensei stubbornly. "Didn't you think that I ought to quit being a ninja? You are strange, Neji-kun." She teases me.

A moment of silence. I don't know what to say...

"... Ichiraku Ramen? I'll pay for it."

"Definitely!" How the heck can she still be that full of vim!? Shiyuki is absolutely not a weak girl as I once thought.

Lee finally comprehends the Ura Renge technic. He is getting stronger and stronger, just with taijutsu. Guy-sensei offers to eat out in order to celebrate this. As we wait the food to be brought out, Lee mistakes water for sake. That's when the disaster begins...

What on the earth has Lee just become?! He hits here and there, babbles something like a drunken guy. The whole diner is thrown into disarray just within a jiffy. I try to hold him back with Guy-sensei.

"Guy-seeeeeeeenseeeeeiiiiiiiiiii~"

"Lee, stop it!"

"Whaaaaaaash're you sayin'??!" This is getting worse! "Achoooooooo!"

"Lee!" Guy-sensei calls. He and I struggle to stop him

After that, we have to beg for the padrone's pardon. We also have to compensate for the damage. I have no idea that Lee is this strong when he's drunken. How more can you surprise me, master of drunken fist?

A/N: For this chapter, I chose a picture of smiling Neji as he started to think differently about Shiyuki :> Btw he's adorable when smiling, is'nt he? XD Do you think that I should draw a picture of Shiyuki for the following chapters?
