Laura's Misfortunes

19-Fly!

Laura, Trey, and Ocean sat in the living room together as their parents talked after lunch in the dining room. Laura laid on the floor while listening to some music. Trey and Ocean were sitting on the couch watching shows on her phone when Trey looked at Laura throwing a big red pillow at her.

"What?!" "You can't just lay on the floor without a pillow!" "Ohhh" Laura thanked him pushing it underneath her head and pulling the blanket over her head once again. She continued to listen to her music while Ocean and Trey finished up the episode. They were about to start a new one before Laura stood up behind them.

"I just realized that when people say a song is fire...they mean it's good...but think about this...a fire is bad..." "Laura-" "like fire can burn you..." "Laura, please-" "If I ever started a fire by cooking, I would run upstairs" "why?" "Because the fire is downstairs in the kitchen" "but it'll make it's way upstairs-" "nonono. "BUT IF THAT HAPPENS I'LL HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO ESCAPE-" "YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF JUST RUNNING OUT THE DOOR FROM DOWNSTAIRS" "BUT THAT FIRE'S DOWN STAIRS" "LAURA! YOU CAN'T RUN UPSTAIRS! JUMPING OUT A WINDOW IS RISKY-" "Not if you can fly😏"

They both stared at Laura. "I- ...this has nothing to do with me" Trey unpaused the film "No! I CAN FLY! I'LL SHOW YOU ALL!!!! Y'ALL ARE BOTH JUST JEALOUS BUT DON'T WORRY! I CAN TEACH YOU-" "NO YOU WON'T! LAURA YOU CAN'T FLY-IT'S NOT POSSIBLE"

"OH, HONEY, I BELIEVE YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!" Ray walked through the kitchen getting a glass of water.

"EXACTLY! OCEAN, TREY! MOM BELIEVES IN ME!!!" "Whatever" Laura huffed folding her arms while walking over to a smaller couch. She climbed on top of it. "What are you doing?" "Ima show you!!!" Laura jumped off with her arms spread out wide. Their eyes widened as she looked like she was floating for only mere second before simply plopping down straight on the floor. They heard all the bones in her body crack...
