Nightmare

The darkness surrounds me, I can't see anything. It's freezing, I'm curled in a ball on the cold concrete. The drip of water echo's and I realise my throat is dry and rough like sandpaper. I don't know when I last drank but I resist the urge to find it, knowing I probably won't and I can't see what's in this room with me. The stench of blood stains the air, I don't know who's it is or how old. I feel weak and thin, I haven't got much strength either and I frown.

Where am I? How long have I been here? Why can't I remember anything? I'm scared but I refuse to let it show. Suddenly I hear groaning coming from somewhere in front of me and my breath hitches in my throat.

"H-hello?" I whisper trying not to let my voice betray me.

"R-Ruby?" a voice that I know all too well strains.

"Sapphire!" I exclaim loudly.

"Wh-where are we?" she whimpers.

"I don't know but we've been here a while. I can't remember a thing. Are you hurt?" I demand anxious knowing she's here as well.

"I think so, my ankle, I think it's broken. I can't move it and I'm scared to move my leg, it hurts too much" she whimpers again and a flash of anger strikes through me.

"Don't move. I'll try and find you."

There's no reply but I start to crawl towards where her voice came from but I don't find her, instead my head bumps into a hard knobbly thing which I immediately know is a knee. I throw myself back with a gasp of shock and fear bubbles up within me.

A light appears from a hand held torch and is aimed on me, where I'm resting on my elbows where I had fallen. It then swings away and lands on Sapphire, who squeezes her eyes shut from the painful light. A low growl rumbles out of my lips in fury. Sapphire is covered in bruises and gashes, wearing only a crop top and underwear. Her left foot lies limp on the floor, clearly broken. The light returns to me and a growl echo's mine. I look down at myself, not in submission but to see how bad I am, I find that I am also in underwear and a bra, I have bruises and cuts all over my body. I look back up and scowl at the figure behind the light, I can tell it's a man, he's tallish and broadly built.

The man chuckles suddenly, it's a sinister chuckle and my entire body gets goosebumps, I know that chuckle. I back up with wide eyes, barely keeping a whimper in.

"Aww, what's the matter, pet? Scared are we?" he sneers and it only reaffirms my assumptions.

The light turns to reveal his face and there he is, Jonathon.

I snarl at him and his face morphs into a look of thunder as he leaps at me, his hand wrapping around my throat, smacking my head onto the concrete. Spots fill my vision for a moment and I can't focus myself. His mouth is inches from my ear and I tremble from fear, this he likes and he bites my ear lobe harshly, I bite my lip to prevent a scream, my eyes tear up and I close my eyes to try and stop the tears. Blood flows from my ear and I can feel Jonathon's tongue licking my blood, I snarl in disgust and he squeezes my throat so I can't breathe, I let out a breathy whimper and he looks down at me with a grin.

A growl startles me and my ears zero in on the sound. Jonathon groans but picks up his flashlight and stands up, walking away and the flashlight gets turned off, sending the room back into darkness. I stay silent as I watch the shadows closely.

"Ruby? Are you alright?" Sapphire whispers.

I don't reply, knowing we aren't alone, they're both still here. My senses have begun to work again as Crimson awakens in my mind, they must have drugged us with Black Acid. I am slowly making out silhouettes in the dark, two in a doorway and one where Sapphire is sat.
