My Belated Apology - Hyuga Neji x OC Fanfiction

Chapter 6

A/N: Stay at home, stay healthy everyone!

Shiyuki's POV

A palm aiming at stomach.

A palm aiming at chest - lungs and heart. I cough blood.

"No! No! Please don't beat me!!" I scream in pure fear.

Then wake up, breathing heavily. I cough my throat out. Ah, here it goes again... The sequel of Gentle Fist that he left on me...

So it was just a nightmare. I couldn't stop thinking about that event, eventhough Neji-kun seems to be nicer... The doctors saved my ninja dream, but my organs couldn't be saved thoroughly. I glance at the clock. It's 5 in the morning. Guy-sensei told us to come to the training ground at 6 a.m sharp, so I'd better get up.

It's still early, so I think I'll practise a bit as I wait for the others. The street is quiet. As I'm enjoying the fresh air and peacefulness, I hear somebody running.

"One... Two! ...One... Two!"

"Lee! You are so early! How hard-working you are, running at this time!"

"Hey, Shiyuki!" He waves at me, then slows down in order that he can walk with me. "Tenten is busy today, so she can't practise with us, I've just been at her house."

"So that is." Tenten has always been protecting me from Neji's sarcasms, so it'll be hard without her... Anyway, it's time for her to rest a bit. I can deal with him by myself!

"Wanna go to Neji's house? We'll go with him to the training ground!"

"W-Wha? Okay then."

As we reach the Hyuga compound, we ask for permission to get in. Lee tells me to go inside alone.

"I'll wait here. Go call Neji!"

"B-But you said that we would go together! I can't-"

"Don't say that you can't! You like him, right? Tenten told me so." Ohmigosh, what have you done to me Tenten?? I blush madly. "It's chance to be close with him!! That's the power of youth!" My, my... I told you to keep secret Tenten...

The earlier nightmare... I'm scared. I'm scared that Neji-kun will put an end to my dream again... But Lee pushes me so hard that I have to go alone. For God's sake, please do not hit me again Neji-kun...

After asking a Hyuga to call Neji-kun for me, I sit in the garden to wait for him. Open a book about controlling chakra that I borrowed from the library yesterday, I read to kill time. So I should grind my wind chakra to create a sharper flow of chakra. That way improves the wind style technics. I'll borrow Tenten's chakra knife to try this trick.
Suddenly I hear some girl's voice. She is practising this early? I come to see a blue-haired girl exercising her Gentle Fist. Isn't that Neji-kun's cousin, Hinata?

"H-Hello, Shiyuki-san..." She notices me. She knows me?

"Oh, good morning. You're Hinata, right?"

"Y-Yes. Please take a seat."

Hinata and I talk.

"I heard that Neji-kun hates you very much. Main family and branch family issue, isn't it? He thinks that a lady like you has no way to become a ninja, just sit at home and sip tea." She nods sadly. "The same to me. He called me a pathetic failure." I speak.

"Neji-niisan believes that you can't be a ninja?!" She seems to be shocked. "But you are way much stronger than me!"

"No I'm not. He attacked my organs to end my dream as he wanted." I shake my head, chuckle bitterly. "But I survived. Be careful, Hinata. He may do the same to you."

"Y-Yes.. I will... So he detests you, too..."

And I can't understand why he hates us that much. Weak, ladylike, huh? I can't digest those ridiculous reasons! The only true reason is that you always look down on us and judge us basing on just our appearances. Wake up Neji-kun, that's not the thing a genius will do.

A long silence between us.

"Hey Shiyuki, what are you doing? Let's go, or else we'll be late." Out of all sudden, Neji-kun's voice rises.

"O-Okay." I stand up and go with him, not forgetting to say goodbye to Hinata.

I notice a great abhorrence in his look to Hinata. I feel nervous for her, pray in my mind that Neji-kun will no longer harm anybody like he did to me...
