Pulling her knees up to her chest Sumbul wrapped her arms around them and kept her head on her knees. Her eyes didn't dried for ones. Her face was flushed from all the crying she did after he had left abruptly . Her nose and eyes were red and lips chapped.
Their argument played like a broken record on her head. She regretted accusing him. Her heart blamed her for every sentence she had used. Why didn't she asked her queries like a damn civilized person. Love isn't everything for a successful marriage. She knew Trust and respect is more important but what could she do about her adamant heart. It is yearning for only one thing, love. She wanted her husband's love, his unconditional love but she isn't lucky to get him love her back. He clearly loved Rumaisha his first wife much more than she could ever be loved by him.

"mama aap kyo ro rhi hai?" Zaims worried tone snapped her out of her reveries as she hurriedly wiped her cheeks with both hands and plastered a fake smile on her lips.

"Nhi beta mai ro toh nhi rhi, shayad kuch chala gaya tha meri aankho me. Aap ko bhukh lgi hai?" She pulled him in her arms and he happily sat on her lap.
He nodded his head in yes and told her that he wanted ice-cream.

"Chalo, lekin sirf aik." She held his hand and together they went to the kitchen.

Sumbul was laying beside Zaim lightly patting his back as the kid slept peacefully, blissfully unaware about the tensed atmosphere around him. It's too late into the night but her angry husband hadn't came home yet. She was worried sick about his well being and had called him numerous times but there was no response from him .

"Yahaan mohtarma aaram se neend farma rhi hain, aur mera masoom bacha pta nhi kahan kahan khwar ho rha hai. Dil toh chahta hai ki abhi dhakke maarkar tumhe apne ghar se nikaal du. Tum jai si begairat ladki mai ne aaj tak nhi dekhi. Aisa kya kaha hai tumne Zaahid se ki wo abhi tak ghar nhi aaya. Batao mujhe aise chup kyo ho." Her mother in law suddenly came in her room. Saadia held her arm in a firm grip and hissed on her face. She wanted to scream at her but Zaim was sleeping and she didn't wanted to startled the kid.

"Dekhein ammi yeh humare bich ka matter hai aur hum khud solve kar lenge. Aur wese bhi yeh ghar zitna aapka hai utna hi mera bhi hai." She pinched her eyes closed to calm herself down and answered in a firm voice while simultaneously pulling her arm from her grip who looked a little taken a back with her confidence.

" Begairati ki bhi hadd hoti hai. Ek toh mere bete se ladkar use itna majboor kar dia ki wo pta nhi kahan chala gya aur ab mujh se jaban lada rhi ho. Niklo merey ghar se abhi ke abhi."

"Mai kahin nhi ja rhi, kyonki yeh mere shohar ka ghar hai aur jab tak mera  unke saath rishta khatm nhi hoga mai yahin rahungi apne bete ke saath. Darwaza us taraf hai." She stated looking at her angry eyes and pointed her finger towards the door. Her mother in law glared at her one last time and stromed out.
Sighing softly she sat at the edge of the bed. Her confident self made her surprised. Her courage to stand for her self respect made her thoughtful that how far she had come. Is this the same her who didn't answered back to her ex husband and his mother's snide remarks, their hateful words tore her into pieces but someone's kind words made her strong enough to face the challenges life will throw her way.

"Ghar aa jayain please." She messaged him umpteenth time because he was not picking her calls. Her eyes burned with tears as she saw the blue tick but he refused to reply anything. Sighing dejectedly she lay down on the bed. Her tears was her only companion for the dark haunting night.

Somewhere not too far from her was her dushman e jaan whose red eyes trained on the moonless sky. He took a deep drag from the burning stick. His heart felt like someone was stabbing it with a knife repeatedly. The pain was so much that it felt almost physical. He felt helpless and lonely. Why cant fate have mercy on him and gave him the happiness and peace he deserves. His eyes sting with tears as her accusing eyes flashed in front of him. Love did it to him. Love made him powerless yet again. Love destroyed him not ones but twice now he will destroy love.
