I looked around, no one was there except me. How did I get here? What happened? Was that a dream or a memory, can I even have memories.
Against my will the tears came. I put my face in the pillow, no one needed to see or hear me like this.
My parents were dead, they were gone. No saving them all I had was my brother.
"You're awake" Bens said walking into my room
I looked up and looked down quickly, wiping the tears off my face and looking away.
"Yeah" I replied "w-what happened"
"I'm not entirely sure, you disappeared for a while. We looked everywhere, we figured you went into the maze or something but Minho couldn't find you. We had a search party go out into the woods and we found you next to a tree with bloody knuckles. You were unconscious, muttering about me and I think mom. Something like that, I passed out too and had a vision thing I don't know. They think we passed out at the same time." he looked at me
"Your Eloise right?" he said
"Yeah" I whispered "I'm also your sister, in case you didn't know"
He smiled, a real smile. He came up and hugged me, a real hug, something that felt so natural, as if I've known him for years, which I technically did.
"I missed you" he said
"I've missed you more, wait are we twins?" I asked
"Well if we were, we're shucking bi polar, we look like exact opposites. You have brown almost black hair, and green eyes. I have blonde hair but I think we have the same eyes."
"Are mothers eyes" we said at the same time
We laughed
"Wait, the trial I'm going to be late." I said
"They said to cancel it, you need rest" He said
"What time is it?"
"It's 6, why?"
I looked around.
"There is space for all the keepers here, bring them I want this over with"
"I don't think that's a good idea. Do you know how long you've been out" he asked
"Please Ben" I pleaded
"Fine" he said "Be right back"
I sat in the hut trying to make up my mind. What would they do to me, what if they hurt me or worse kill me. No Ben wouldn't let that happen but what if he did.
Ben came back.
"They agreed to let you have a trial if you're up for it" he looked at me "El, you broke 2 of the most important rules. They might be able to help with the first rule, because you were barely a greenie, but you knocked a glader unconscious. Now don't get me wrong it was so cool, but Alby won't think so."
"Alby?" I asked
"He's first in command, I wouldn't mess with him. I'm not sure what he thinks about this whole girl thing, Alby has always been a bit harsh with us so with you I don't know. At least you have Newt on your side."
"Newt is on my side?" I smiled to myself
"Yeah he was yelling about how there shouldn't even be a trial since you've barely been in the glade for a couple days. I don't know what is happening with him, I've never seen him this hysterical since well ever" he said looking at me "are you- no way, you are totally blushing"
" I don't blush" I muttered going a darker shade of red
We heard talking
"Here they come, you have some reasonable excuse right?" he asked
"I'm not apologizing for any of it, if anything I'm asking for a place in the keeper selection" I shrugged
"You slinthead" he smiled sadly "your so screwed"
"And why would that be" a man said behind us
I turned around, there stood a tall dark man.
"Hi I'm alby and you must be the new greenie"
