Life!
The rich live it with luxury and the poor live it by working hard. Life does not mean showing off your new silk sari with a matching diamond set. It does not mean belittling others. It doesn’t mean cursing the day you were born because life’s rough on you. It doesn’t mean envying others.
It means taking pleasures in the simplest things and staying satisfied. Thanking God that you’ve lived to see another day.
Being comfortable in your own skin. Being gentle even on those whose presence irks you. Nobody cares if you have diamonds or rubies.
People only care what you have within.
It’s kind of like friendship.
While you’re out with your friends, you might be low on cash but the pleasure you get when you’re abused (in a friendly way, not the harsh abuse thing), when a little inside joke cracks you up and makes you forget about the bad day you’ve had.
Friends can light up your world and even while they’re a little harsh on you and you’re angry on them or vice versa, you still love them to death (believe me I’ve been through it). You might doubt them at first but you’ll get there. Even when you have nothing on you, you actually have everything there is to ask for. You take pleasures in the tiniest things you can.
Cracking up on a lame joke just for the hell of it. But most importantly they’ll never leave your side in good times or bad, even if you have your doubts. They don’t give a damn if you wear the same thing twice in a row. You’re gonna have fights and a lot of drama but in the end it’s all worth it.
They tend to high five a lot…..on the face but just for the hell of it. You might be the richest person in the world but the money’s gonna be gone one day but these assholes are gonna remain forever for you to bear.
Even when you’re old and lonely living with cats, they’re gonna come up to you and you’re gonna relive those memories again as if it was yesterday.
