Chapter 1 Keanna Gooder my new best friend
I spotted Keanna Gooder sitting alone at the far end of the Event Hall. We were having classes here because the volleyball players of Wicon High were housed at our classrooms. All eighth graders were in one class this week. Keanna is a top student in their class. She was an achiever and a genius, she's popular too. But despite of her popularity, there were issues buzzing around about her. Most were negative. Keanna, most of my classmates would say had a bad attitude, that is why she don't have anyone to hang out with. Ms. Mamen had called the attention of the whole eighth grade class and my attention went back to our discussion with Hinduism. I listened at the lesson and I say, it was so boring. Very. After Ms. Mamen dismissed the class, I went to Brianna, a close friend of mine and dormmate from Keanna's section. I stay in the dorm because my parents are not around most of the time. Brianna and I went down the stairs to proceed to our dormitory to eat lunch.
" History class was boring, eh Brianna? " I said to Brianna.
" Yer right, Darelle. But I listened anyway and I jotted down notes too. " Brianna told me.
I smirked at Brianna and she glared at me.
" Hey guys. " A familiar so girly voice sounded from behind us. Brianna and I both turned to see Keanna catching up with us. Uhm, did hell just freeze over somewhere? Why is she catching up with us? Huh. Keanna. Well, she's a friend of mine but not really close. I was just stunned to see her running towards us.
Brianna's eyes widened and I glanced at her.
" Hi Keanna." Brianna said.
" Hello Brianna. Hi Darelle! " Keanna sounded upbeat.
We smiled at her then she asked if she could have a lunch with us. We okayed and she smiled gratefully. I began to feel pity for Keanna. Nobody goes with her and I think that she don't even notice that some disliked or hated her.
When we reached the dormitory, Keanna unpacked her lunch while Brianna and I ordered at the cafeteria. I bought two sticks of hotdogs, fries and grape soda. Brianna did the same. When we settled down the table, I felt a pang of anger building inside my chest. I resented some, Ina, Thesa, Gelene, Royven, Shalla, and almost all of the eighth graders except Keanna and Brianna. I don't know what's gotten into me but rebel like feelings started to washed over me.
" Everybody disliked and hated you Keanna. " I muttered while she took a bite in her cheeseburger.
" Whaaa--- Really? Why.? " She asked astounded.
Brianna threw me a sharp look but I ignored her. I started to tell Keanna the bad and negative issues that were swirling around the campus. I revealed Ross and Pauline's, my close friends, the mean things, not really mean, just intriguing, that they had said behind her back. Including the fact that if someone likes Keanna she also likes it too. No matter how unattractive that guy is. Keanna gaped at me and I nodded at her.
" Tell me more Darelle. " Keanna insisted me.
I took a bite of my second stick of hotdog before launching into another chapter of the issues.
" Okay. " I said before starting.
" Pauline said that you took Lim away from Ross. " I said. Lim was Ross' ex boyfriend.
She gestured at me to go on and she won't interrupt. I told her that everyone suspects that Kayrel, her older sister was the poser in Friendster, named mysteriously Chelsea Kimp who was a harsh rude friendster account user. I told her every bad little thing I have heard from my classmates and friends. I even backstabbed some of my closest friends to her.
" I officially change my loyalty to Keanna Gooder today. " I told her.
She giggled and Brianna who was also filling her bits of information laughed. I felt at peace with this two girls. It was like we were best friends since before we were born.
After we finished eating, Brianna and I also finished telling her all the things we knew. Keanna promised to zip her mouth and not tell anyone what we had told her. We trusted her, we trusted our NEW best friend. We went to class together and everyone looked at us. They were clearly surprised that they saw three different people together. Me, Brianna and Keanna. We ignored them until the end of class. After class, we went to Jory's Burger Chain and ate our snacks. Brianna and I went to the dorm and Keanna went home after we ate.
