Untitled Story #1 DESPERADO

A way to go through

I look at myself while getting ready for school. I'm short, scrawny, with pale skin. I look at my big blue eyes which I am only proud of. I sigh loudly and went to grab breakfast and ran towards the door. As if on cue Wei honked his car following by many shouting by Chi for disturbing the neighborhood (yes she cares about the neighborhood). I hurriedly jumped in the car and then we went to pick up Exer. 

"Caleb, Wassup'?" He greeted me in which I returned with an 'I am fine'.

Exer is a little taller than me but shorter than Chithra. He is having a tanned body with dark curls for his hair and chocolate colour eyes. Coming back to earth I poked Chithra to ask a question.

"Will I meet the new girl you have been talking about?" I asked her curiously.

Chi has been talking about this girl from India she had met. What I have heard of her is that she is so sweet and humble and she have been working hard for her family but she is bringing her here so that her father won't pressure her again to work. I mean if she was working in a part time job or something its ok but the girl haven't gone to school since primary school. She will even agree to work for her family without hesitation because she is so sweet. Can't her sister who is studying in college now work? or her drunk dad. Whatever, I just really want to meet this girl and be her friend. 

"Yes" She smiled at me.

When we reached school I went to my locker and opened it. I look across the hall and spotted Zion. I immediately looked away not wanting to have eye contact, scared that I will be in his blacklist. I was going to close my locker when I saw Wei coming towards me. See, Wei is in my group of friends but it is rare for him to approach me except if something is wrong. I look around my surroundings and saw the three bullies coming. Their bark laughters echoing through the hallway. I immediately duck my face into the locker hoping they won't spot me. 

"They act as if they are some non-debuted girl groups" Is what Chi always say about them.

See Zion is strong and I heard he used to fight, people say he strong and that is why I am avoiding him. What if he changed his mind and start bullying? Judge me however you want I'm just thinking practical, but he never bullied (not that I heard). But that's not the case with these three musketeers. They bully you and um.....  please themselves by you. And trust me this not the first time.   

I starts to shake up by my dark memories. I know I am too weak but Chithra told me to love myself so yes I'm holding up. Sensing my  panic Wei looked around helplessly. He's not that good with comforting people so he just hugged me.

"Jo! over here man!"

I shifted my gaze to Andrew who was calling me to his lunch table. This is my routine. Each day I sit at different tables for different people. Everyone in the school loves talking to me. Like literally everyone. OK. Not everyone. But even though at least they are ok with talking to me. I walk forward and greet everyone as I sit in one of the chairs. As I chat and crack few jokes I glance at the window and saw 'nerd' sitting under a tree and reading a book in the middle of chaos peacefully. Noting myself to talk to him later I stood up to clear my tray and headed straight to the locker cracking jokes in the hallway.
