Chapter Forty

Theme: Not Friends

   My life had started to seem better and everything had started to go well,but something didn't feel right,there was someone I didn't get to settle things with. The one person I misjudged and yeah..... She probably despise me too,I visited her just to patch things up and perhaps see where it will take us.

     "You! What are you doing here?!" She asked as she opened the door of her house.

   "Hi Bianca__ My name is....."

   "I know your name!! I asked what you are doing here" She said sternly as she cut in and stopped me from talking.

   "I.....I uhm..... I came here to talk to you. Can I come in??" I asked.

   "No you can't__ just.... Just come" She said as she led the way to a garden at the back of her house. Their garden was huge and the different colorful flowers made it as pretty as a valley. It was really lovely!

   We took a seat on a white swing in the garden and Bianca just kept quiet all the way and sat still, I guess she was waiting to hear what I came to say.

   "Uhm...... I came to say I'm sorry,you'd be wondering what I'm sorry for and why I've even come here to say it. We actually started off on a pretty bad turn and I kinda misjudged you and along the line, it turned into hate. But I've come to a conclusion that I was wrong to have thought like that in the first place and I wanna make things right..... I hope we can be friends" I said as I heaved a deep sigh.

   "Friends?? Tch! You and I....as friends?? Bianca asked with disgust.

   " Yeah,is it wrong??!"

  "Hell yeah its wrong__ on so many levels; and I don't have time to start explaining myself to you but what you should know is you are pretty annoying and all you were saying right now is pure bullsh*t"

   "Bullshii?? What did I do so wrong that made you hate me this much?" I asked.

  "You don't know?! Well you act like you are so perfect and it disgusts me. You just came out of nowhere and took everything away from me without making much effort"

     "I took everything from you??"

"My social life in school,Adrian and even my brother...... Before he died,he wouldn't stop ranting About how great you are,I hear your name in school and when I'm not in school,you are just everywhere, isn't that annoying??!!"

   "I never imagined that I made things that hard for you,you hated me for something I wasn't aware of....... Taking your life is something I'd never do,I admire you Bianca..... I admire everything about you"

   "And you admire my boyfriend too,right??" Bianca asked with her eyebrows raised.

   "Adrian?? He said you guys werent dating......"

   "Wow! He told you that?! So its true.....😔😔"

  "What is true?? I asked as I was so curious to know what she meant .

     " Nothing!"

  "You said its true"

  "Yeah yeah! Its true....."

  "What is true??!!" I asked.

  "That he likes you,its true. Adrian truly likes you. He never told anyone about our...... Our 'fake-dating',seeing how he told you about it shows how much he wants you to trust him"

   "Ohh!" I was really short of words there.

  "You see Tania..... You won't just get it but I don't hate you,a competition was bound to happen when someone as pretty as you are got into our school,I'm not saying I like you either. Let's just stay as we are,not friends and not enemies,its cool that way"

   "Alright then,Bianca".

  If there's one thing I've learnt in this journey called Life,its the fact that not everything will go your way...... Some things are best left just the way they are,no matter how you try to change them,it won't just work. No matter how you try to rewrite a fate that has been destined to be the way it is,it'll turn out to be a complete waste of time.

   Well,tonight we are having a family dinner and Adrian and Hailey are coming too,if things had ended on a soft note with Bianca,I would have loved to invite her too. Before dinner,I searched for every suitable thing to wear but I wasn't satisfied with all I was seeing and i must say my room was in such a huge mess.

  Then there was a knock on my door and as frustrated as I was,I just mumbled the words " Come in" as I was in between lots of clothes.

  "Oh my gosh honey!! What's going on in here??!" Mum exclaimed.

   "I'm looking for what to wear tonight and I can't find anything..... Aarghh" I said in a frustrated tone.

   "Probably because you are looking for what isn't in your closet" Mum said.

  "Uhn?!"

   "You are getting tensed because he's coming and you want to look your best..... I know honey" Mum said as she winked at me.

  "Nooo mum..... OK wait! is it that obvious?!"

   "Its obvious honey"

  "What do I do??!"

  "It's just dinner honey....just be simple, you'd look beautiful in whatever you wear" she kissed me on the forehead as she left the room.

   It was time for dinner and everyone was at the table except for me__ I was still in my room thinking of how to go downstairs. I was feeling a bit nervous and that was awkward..... I mean I've seen these people a million times,or is it because of Adrian,oh my! What's happening to me!! While I was performing in my room,my mum called me from downstairs.

   "I'm coming Mum!!!"

  I took in a deep breathe and finally left my bedroom,as I walked down the stairs slowly approaching the dining, I could feel the eyes staring at me. My gaze went to Adrian's and my oh my! He couldn't take his eyes off,he stared at me like I was a princess or someone of sort. You are probably wondering what I wore..... It was something simple as mum said,I wore a black knee-lenght vintage off-shoulder gown that showed my curves and I wore the perfect wig for the dress..... Blonde way.

  "You look really beautiful" Adrian whispered in my ears.

   And I blushed as I whispered right back 'Thank you'.

   As we ate and conversed over dinner,Dad tried to get our attention as he took his glass of wine and his table knife,he made quite a noise with it but everyone went quiet at the sound of it.

   "Just a moment pls,my princess has something to say to you all" Dad said.

   "I do??" I asked as I was just as confused as everyone at the table.

   "Yes princess,tell them about your birthday coming up"

    "Oh! My birthday"
