The Bonfire Part Two

I walk along the bridge, the cool night air brushing against my face and teasing my hair. I stop walking once I reach the middle of the bridge and stand there, finding comfort in my own company. The sky is open and clear, the stars glistening like small diamonds, and the moon like a gorgeous pearl. I shut my eyes, face tilted upwards as I take a deep breath, allowing the calm of the night to wash over me. I keep my eyes closed, tuning out everything but the soft chorus of crickets and trickling of water below, and it's all so beautiful and peaceful I get lost in it all, unaware of the ocean blue eyes watching me.

Unknown POV
I begin making my way out of the woods, smiling to myself as I wipe away any excess blood from my mouth. As I pass the bridge I look towards the opposite end where the hormonal teens are celebrating the new school year. I begin to turn away when I see her and stop walking. Her head is tilted upwards towards the sky, her eyes are closed, lips slightly parted. The expression on her face is so peaceful, and I am unable to look away. I take a step towards her, but then hear people shouting, and with a final glance, I speed away.

Amber's POV
I'm brought back to reality when I hear shouts coming from the party. I hear a whoosh from the opposite direction, but when I turn, there's nothing there. I shake off my confusion and run towards the center of the commotion where Elena, Matt, and Jeremy are standing above an unconscious Vicki, her neck covered in blood, while Tyler yells at people to stay back. I hear Elena say something about bite marks and the realization hits me. A vampire did this, and it sure as hell wasn't me. I see Matt staring at something and I follow his gaze, watching as Stefan begins backing away from the crowd and rushing off. Could he have done this? I'm pulled from my thoughts when the smell of blood overwhelms my senses. I'm in control, but I have to get out of here. I push through the crowd and once I'm sure no one can see me, I vamp speed away to my house, my safe haven. I quickly go inside, making sure to lock the door before speeding to the kitchen and yanking the fridge open. I grab one of the thermoses of blood I have and drink the entire thing. I look at the fridge and see that I've nearly drained my supply. I'll need to stop by the hospital  tomorrow if I'm going to have enough blood to last me these next few days. After placing the empty thermos in the sink, I go to my bedroom and change into my pajamas, take off my makeup, wash my face and brush my teeth before crawling into bed. I fall asleep almost immediately, unaware of the pair of forest green eyes staring up at my bedroom window.

A/N: UGH I'm sorry for taking so long to update and even more sorry for the short chapter. This was sort of a filler chapter.

I love you all, and I'm always here if you need someone to listen.
