Running through the woods was a pure energy. The innocent energy residing in the form of a young girl. She did not know what she was running from. She only felt the fear rushing through her system danger prickled along he skin. She weaved through trees no longer following a trail. The branches breaking below her feet and her own heavy breathing were the only noise that could be heard. But she knew it was near, gaining on her. A black hound neither here or there just a shadow of dark energy. It moved with the wind feeding off her fear, gaining on the energy it desired. The girl ran for her life not seeing the shadow creep from behind. She only felt its energy surrounding her, trapping her from any light. Her scream echoed through the trees. No one saw the blackness consume the pure energy, sucking the life from its victim and growing its dark energy.......
Allonna sat at her vanity brushing her straight black hair. Something was off a feeling she had in the pit of her stomach. The morning was quiet a soft breeze held birds chirping in the distance. But the atmosphere felt stale, void of emotion. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a shadow skitter across the room from her mirror. Glancing behind her shoulder she saw just her empty bedroom. Facing her mirror once again her blue eyes widened. The shadow of her lamp morphed and the shadow of a large man stepped from behind the lamp. As the shadow stepped out of the wall it became real. A dark haired man scruffy along his jaw dark brown eyes staring into hers through the mirror. Allonna was frozen in place taking in the appearance of this shadow man. He wore a long tan trench coat, black button up shirt, jeans, and running shoes that have seen better days.
" We must leave the hounds have been released." The mans deep voice was serious but gentle. Though Allonna knew nothing of what he was talking about, or who he was. She felt the static in the air. She could feel the unbalance shifting across the land. She trusted the warm energy that spread across the room when he emerged from the wall. Without a second thought she got up, took his extended hand and followed him out the door.....
"Mommy Pwease lets get out of here." Rusty pleaded. His little hand squeezed onto his mothers.
"Sweetheart we're almost done. Just one more thing on the list, Ice-cream!" She smiled shuffling down the aisle.
"Pwease Mommy I don't even want ice-cream. I think we should leave now." Tears were welling in his eyes.
"No ice-cream, Are you getting sick?" When she looked down into his face she saw true fear in his eyes. His little hand gripping hers was clammy and shaking. " Oh honey what's wrong are you feeling okay?"
"NO nothing feels right I wanna go home."
She turned their cart around heading toward the cash register up front. "Okay let's get checked out and get you home."
"Just leave it here Mommy come on Mommy let's go. I feel it coming."
"Oh god sweetie are you gonna puke?" She abandoned her cart heading to the closest exit. getting Rusty to some fresh air.
"Run Mommy we have to get out of here." His eyes were darting back and forth, feeling a cloud of dark energy closing in on him. That's when is mother felt it too. Dark energy pressing in on them. Consuming every last bit of love, hope, and life. Their souls sucked into the energy hound. Feeding its dark desires, growing its dark shadow.........
The shadow man and Allonna ran hand and hand. Her lungs were burning but she didn't allow it to slow her down. She felt the urgency of the shadow man.The determination etched into his face, his eyes piercing forward. So she would continue to run pushing past her boundaries.
