Chapter Six

Owen's P.O.V

I sit back onto the cold metal bleacher seat, waiting for the last part of the recruits test begin. There's about two hundred other Academy members present.

My brothers all sit around talking amongst ourselves about possible outcomes to Sang. Some I can't help agree with. From our positions, we can see the whole arena easily. If we can't there are televisions set periodically around in view.

Something we relize, is that this year's arena is completely different. By that, I mean it's more dangerous than it has ever been.

We doubt Sang will relize the extent, due to being at a lower vantage point but in the water areas are different tests in themselves. As Axel and Silas pointed out there is one that has electric currents under the surface while others have what appears to be Stonefish and Thyrsoidea macrurus'.

So we can only assume what the others hold. Luckily we have a team of paramedics nearby, a alarming rate if I'm honest. But we also have Sean if something happens to Sang.
Any of my brothers argued to remove her from this competition,  but overall, we know she would not approve so we created plans for only life threatening event.

There are ruptures and beams throughout the whole arena with striking similarities to a child's park, but the major differences lie with being splintering wood and a shaky structure.

As my brothers all placed bets on what rank Sang would be in, I sat watching the field. I find it unnerving that this year is so dangerous. But I can't for the life of me figure out why.

I was spiraling in thoughts when Sean slid over next to me and nudged my shoulder.

"Owen, she will be okay. She's so strong. We all helped train her, she knows when she can't handle something. Plus, this is the Academy, they wouldn't let anything happen to someone that puts them in direct harm."

He gives a beautiful wide smile while looking into my eyes. And I can feel my body relax a little bit.

"You are absolutely correct Sean. It's just. . . Hard for me to think about her being hurt." I respond with a slight tone of uncertainty that I would rarely let others see.

But Sean is different.  I've known him for so long. I know his passions, his darkest secrets, his history. I know it's all made him into the most amazing man. Without him, I would honestly be lost.

But sitting on the uncomfortable metal bench, I can't help but think... Couldn't I say the same about Sang? I may not know her inside out, but could I live and breathe in a world she is missing from? Or would it be like breathing with half a lung?

Sean's P.O.V

I know Owen is struggling. He's fighting himself for control. By not knowing the outcome to this Trial, he's realizing how much he has grown to care for Sang.

But he's putting unnecessary thoughts and ideas into his mind when he should be putting trust into our woman.

He's trying so hard to be her leader, that he's forgotten that she has the potential to be his lover.
But after he admits just a little bit that he's struggling with the idea of anything bad being bestowed on her, I see it.

I see the love and adoration in the depths of his fierce silver eyes. See the pain from just the idea of anything happening to her in the tensing of his shoulders.

God, I love this man. With the world on his shoulders and determination to keep everyone safe. He's gorgeous. I would tell him so if I knew how.

He's my best friend. My life. At my lowest point in life, he was there. He never let me down. I would never jeopardize our friendship by telling him the three power words. I can't. And knowing this sends a pang of pain through my chest.

I have to look away before tears blurred my eyes.

If he is happy, then I'll be happy. Even if that's with somebody other than me.

Brandon's P.O.V

"I think she'll be passed all of us. We've watched her train. She's better at things that we all professed in."

North and Nathan are currently arguing over what Sangs scores will be when a loud ringing goes off silencing them both.

We look over to the entrance and wait for the recruits to exit. I hold my breath as I wait for her to exit.
When she does I release my breath and relax.

She's absolutely fucking enchanting as she walks to the starting center. She stays in the middle of the recruits even while instructions are told. The whole time I see her eyes scanning the arena. Smart girl, always be a step ahead.

Only minutes later does everyone look at their trial. Alot of them look nervous while others look downright sick. But not Sang. She looks determined and holds a very sexy calculating look.

I can't help but grin when everyone starts taking the first section. Pushing and tripping each other in attempt to be ahead. But while most recruits passed Sang, she stands and watches. I can tell why though. Everyone is trying so hard to be first that they aren't making plans and thinking first.

Eventually she rips off her shirt and rips it into two pieces and wraps them around her hands.

At first we all questioned her movement, but it quickly became clear, when instead of taking the monkey bars the traditional way, she instead climbs up the beam and gets on the top.

Very smart.

Nathan's P.O.V

Man, I've been sitting on this hard bench for about two hours. I don't mind watching Sang show off her flexibility,  but my ass is going numb. So I'm definitely glad it's at the end.

Currently we are all leaning forward expectantly as Sang made the decision to save the other girl and pull her to shore. I was worried she wouldn't be able to handle the extra weight.

But I shouldn't have been. Because a minute later she is arching out of the water and landing with a thud to the ground. We can see her heaving her breath from the television screen in front of us.

She laid there for only a couple of moments before a buff guy came to retrieve her. She got up slowly and followed his lead.

I glanced at my brothers before I stood up massaging my behind a moment. Then I began walking to the corridor where all recruits would be waiting for the scores to come out.

My brothers join me while all talking excitedly about things Sang done through this course. I couldn't help but smile.

My peanut is so damn strong.

Victor's P.O.V

Somethings wrong. All fourteen of us have been standing in the corridor waiting to see Sang. But she hasn't arrived yet.

But that's not the problem on hand. The issue is that we have been waiting for over half an hour and have not sighted her. Nor has anyone else.

So currently me and Corey have pulled security footage. Even after the council told us not to worry.

I'm so glad we did though. Because  I show the footage to my brothers and I know we have to be quick.

Because she was taken into the woods. Which no Academy member enters.
