See, Ik this is a pretty late time to post, buuuuuut i never really put a time stamp on when, so yea. Enjoy the story~
Mavria strolled down the street, the pattern of clicks from her steps leading her way. She was stared down while walking down the old stone sidewalks. Her eyes gave dark glances to the other pedestrians, quickly averting their focus to something else.
Why can't they leave me alone? Ever since the Volkov's sudden disappearance, Mavria had been overhearing rumors of her family. They had gone on a far trip to South America, and it had been said that once they returned home, they never left the manor again. The civilians of that town considered Mavria as the shop dog, getting groceries and clothing for them since they were too prestigious to walk with the "lower classes". They're so dumb, thinking they know everything, Mavria would think, Too bad my parents are too dead to stick up for themselves.
She was the only one who knew what had happened to them, Mavria was there when it did. Such a memory made the scars on her eye and leg burn as if they had suddenly reopened. She remembered it as if it was only minutes ago: Mothers' screams, Father grabbing her, and the broken glass slashing her skin that she used to shield her brother. She could almost see the lifeless stares of her parent's bodies and how the blood from the gashes in their throats turned the marble floor red. Mavria hated red. Whenever she saw people wearing red dresses, rubies, any type of red, she gave them a glare that could kill. It's one of the few reasons people try to avoid her eyes. The other is there color. The left was a shining green the right a bright, bright orbs held no soul.
"How could someone with such vibrant eyes belong to someone so faded of life?" One would say.
"Her features in itself are depressing."
"Why so sad?"
"Кто сделал тебя таким мрачным?(Who made you so dark?)"
It never made sense to her why people looked at her this way. Mavria thought it was clear to everyone that she gave up trying to smile for others' sanity, so she continues to avoid the community. For their sake and hers.
Oooooh Chapter two finished! Took a lot to write tbh -_-|| hope you enjoyed it tho! Till next time friends!
