Y/N

cancer x as the world caves in slowed

I looked over at my mother, father, and little sister. My hands were tired from washing the dishes, but it was my chore tonight. I didn't mind though. This was one of the few nights all of us were home. My father worked to keep food on the table. My mother had her hands full with my two year old sister.

"Play!" my sister tugged at my skirt.

She couldn't really form sentences yet, but if she wanted to do something she would say one or two words. I smiled down at her. I placed the dish I was washing in the sink.

"Mom! Dad! We are going outside!" I called to them.

My mother raised her head from my father's shoulder. They both turned their heads to look at us. They smiled and waved us off.

"Have fun!" my mother smiled.

"Be careful," father said with a small grin on his face.

I leaned down and picked up the small being that I called my sister. While I stuffed my feet into my shoes, my sister started to play with my hair. Even with our big age gap, my sister and I were inseparable. She made me happy and I made her happy. I would die to keep her safe. I would die to keep my entire family safe from titans and other terrible humans.

Outside, the air was warm. The sky was blue, clouds clumped together like little balls, and the sun shined its rays on us. I placed my sister down as she tried to run around. Her motor skills needed some work.

"I'm gonna get you!" I exclaimed. I bent my knees and held my hands out like a monster. My sister giggled and tried to run away. She wobbled away and I pretended to slowly run. I finally got her and I picked her up and spun her around.

While we were both laughing, a huge bolt of lightning and boom shook the entire ground. I stumbled as I tightened my grip on my sister. Now neither of us were smiling.

"What just happened?" I whispered to myself.

I looked around at the other people who were just as confused. They began to walk towards the direction of where the strange lightening happened, but I stood where I was.

Suddenly an indescribably huge, red hand gripped the tall wall. That wall was fifty meters high, how could-

"What?" I asked out loud.

A faceless titan looked down on all of us. I should've ran but my body was too shocked to move. I looked at my sister who was staring at the monster ahead of us. I couldn't tell what her little brain was thinking, but it definitely wasn't good.

A huge blast of noise shocked both of us. Huge pieces of rumble and concrete began to fly into the air. Finally getting the senses in my body back, I ran away.

I started to make my way home. There was chaos. I gripped my sister so tightly and her small hands gripped me too. Many times, over and over again, I got lucky. I missed the huge piece of concrete that fell. I heard the screams of women, men, children. The cries of babies haunted my ears.

I heard the crushing of bodies.

"The Titans are coming!" voices began to scream.

My eyes widened even more. I kept telling myself to run home. My legs picked up pace and I dodged the flying pieces. I didn't realize I was crying until I felt something wet fall on my cheek. I didn't realize that my sister was crying too.

"Shh, it's gonna be ok," I said while petting her hair.

I finally got back home. But the sight was unforgettable. Our house was crushed. Only wood and rubble remained.

"Mom! Dad!" I screamed.

I ran into the pile of nothingness. I ran into the pile of what used to be called my home. This time, tears fell harder and harder and harder. They have to be here. Maybe they escaped just in time. That thought spread across my mind. Of course, they left. They probably heard the huge blast and ran out of the house.

However, my hopeful thinking was soon useless. I saw a bloody hand shaking. My heart dropped in horror.

I ran towards it and looked underneath. There my father lied. His face was bloody and a huge gash ran across his forehead. His whole body was crushed.

"Dad! Where's mom? I'm going to get you out of here!" I couldn't understand what I saying because so many thoughts were running through my mind. Each thought more important than the other, making my brain scrambled.

"Daddy!" my little sister smiled.

She pushed herself out of my grip and tried to wobble over to our crushed father. I pulled her back into me, making her loudly cry.

She cried over and over. More loudly every time.

"Daddy! Dad!" she repeated herself.

"Get out of here! Mother is dead!" my father also tried to scream but his words weren't coming out correctly.

So many words coming into my mind. So many words that was coming from my own mind. I couldn't think. I couldn't see. I couldn't see the titan that was coming for us.

My sister, trying to get away from me, ran out of my embrace and towards father. She smiled as she finally got to touch his bloody finger. I reached my hand out for her, but I was instantly picked up.

I looked at the body that was holding onto me. It was one of the Garrisons. I hit him in the back.

"What are you doing? My sister!" I screamed, still hitting him.

"Look!"

I looked where he told me to and there was a titan. Coming for my sister.

I kicked until the Garrison soldier finally let me go. I ran quickly towards my sister who was still playing with father's bloody finger. Why is she laughing? Turn towards me!

"Imouto!" I screamed.

"Hey! Over here!"

"Come play!"

"Do you wanna play?"

"Imouto!"

I was trying to get her attention. Why can't she look at me? Listen to me! Listen to me! Listen to me! Listen to me! Listen to me! Listen to me! Look at me! Hey!

It was too late. The titan picked her up.

I was too late.

She was gone.

It was too late.

I was too late.
