Trying to teach a kindergartener their curriculum was harder than you thought. Especially when you damn well knew that if Sally had four apples and Tim gave her three more, that she would have seven apples in total.

Hell, you knew that if an apple company wished to increase their sales while reducing their prices, you could find the exact amount at which they could sell their apples to make the maximum profit.

It frustrated you to no end when Seojun almost cried because he didn't have enough fingers to count seven plus four.

And then trying to teach him the four seasons? Absolute hell. You even tried to teach him the song to remember. How hard was it to memorize 'Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, there are seasons, four in all'? It was then that you decided that teaching wasn't for you. The concepts were common knowledge to you, but he was learning, and while you understood it, you couldn't stand it.

You finished his lessons with him reading a small paragraph to you and then having him spell some words. That went better than expected. Reading and spelling had always been Seojun's strong suit.

When he finished his school work, he was eager to watch TV again, but much to his dismay, you'd told him no. He pouted and gave you the puppy dog eyes, but you were being firm this time. He was grounded from the TV until tomorrow.

He sat beside you as you went through your own lessons, trying to comprehend them. You began to mumble to yourself as you did your work, not noticing Seojun crinkling his nose at the big words you mumbled out.

There were some things you didn't fully understand, but you would ask your teachers about that tomorrow. You put your own work into your bag, setting it aside, not wishing to look at it for the rest of the day, despite not finishing the practice problems you were given.

"How come you don't have to read or spell?" Seojun asked, his lips pursed in a pout.

"Because I already know how to read and spell," you told him.

  "How?" He asked.

"Seojunnie, Noona has been in school since before you were born," you told him, with a slight roll of your eyes.

"Noona! You're so old!" He gasped in surprise.

"I guess I am," you sighed, rolling your eyes again.

"Can I play?" He asked, pointing to his room where his and Seohyun's toys sat.

"Sure you can. Just remember to clean up when you're done," you told him. He stood excitedly, running to his room to go play with his toys.

You were glad to finally be alone. You loved both Seojun and Seohyun, but they could be exhausting. It was difficult to entertain two kindergarteners when you were close to graduating.

You took this time to go on your phone and scroll through social media, looking at what had been posted lately.

You could hear Seojun making noises in his room as he played by himself. Seojun didn't like to play with you. It saddened you. You understood how he could dread playing with his sister. You never understood the games he played about taking over the world with his plushies. You couldn't understand the plots of his games where he was a superhero that would save the city. You felt more comfortable playing with Seohyun and her dolls. After all, that's what you'd done as a child. It was more familiar to you. It made you feel bad that you couldn't play with Seojun.

Sir came and sat on your legs, beginning to purr just having you near him. He was a very content cat. You started to pet him and he melted into your touch. The relief you felt as you pet the cat was something you never felt often. You seldom got moments to feel like a kid, but when you got to be around Sir, it reminded you of your rapidly fleeting childhood innocence. You got to gush and smile stupidly as you pet him. You got to bring him close to you for a moment and give little kisses on his nose. You got to giggle as he rolled onto his back to let you pet his tummy and you got to laugh as he stood up and waddled away. That was the main reason you'd wanted a cat.
