Your Hand

The 4 soulmates reach a movie theater, Jungkook and Yujin stand next to each other awkwardly, while Taehyung and Nari shamelessly hold hands.

"After this, let's eat dinner. You two have fun!" Nari exclaimed before running to the back of the theater with Taehyung on her tail.

Yujin and Jungkook silently stand there, staring at the movie they were supposed to watch, a cheesy lovey dovey one.

"Dumpling, do you really want to watch this...?" Jungkook whispers in horror.

She shakes her head with wide eyes and turns around to cover her eyes from the people kissing on the cover.

"Let's head out," she finally says.

YUJIN POV

We walk out together, making some occasional conversation. The wind sends chills down my spine and I shiver a bit.

We sit on a bench in a nearby park, looking up to the darkening sky.

"This reminds me of home..." I whisper after a while.

"How so?"

I think for a moment, "The skies back in Busan were just like this, except prettier"

"You lived in Busan?" He asks.

I smile at the memories, "Yeah, I grew up there"

"Me too"

I turn to him with bewildered eyes, "Huh?!"

He chuckles, "Dumpling, I lived in Busan for a while too, I moved when I was 6"

I take what he said into consideration, "I moved when I was 11"

We go silent for a moment and he turns to me, "Do you miss it? I don't quite remember much of it"

"Yes, of course I do. Seoul is beautiful, but it doesn't smell like the ocean. It doesn't sound like crashing waves..."

I finally turn to look at him and I'm frozen by how beautiful the sight is.

He's looking at me, with stars in his eyes, and a big smile on his face. It's dark now and the night sky reflects his handsome face.

"What's so funny?" I whisper as I stare at his adorable bunny smile.

He shakes his head, "I'm just glad we're finally able to talk without fighting"

I laugh genuinely at that before turning back to the sky.

"You have a cute laugh"

I snap my head back to Jungkook next to me and he blushes a bit.

"Whaaa-" I start.

"I want to see you laugh and smile more often, I'm glad I was the cause of it today"

I look at my fidgeting hands in my lap.

"Dumpling, you get so flustered now, yeah?"

I shoot him a glare and punch his shoulder.

We talk for many more hours after that, about personal and school life. Maybe Jungkook isn't that bad...

As we leave though, I feel his warm hand engulf my freezing one and he slips our hands into his pocket, bringing me closer with it.

He continues walking on as if nothing happened but he squeezes my hand tight in his pocket.

"Jungkook, what's- I- uh-"

"Yujin, don't think much of it, you're just about to get frostbite, how weak-"

I whip my hand out of his and I hear his heartfelt laughs behind me before he catches up and starts to tease me more. I try to ignore the disappointment in my chest.
