We carry on walking through what forest there is left, until we reach the open field. I turn and look at them , i give them a once over. up and down go my eyes.
"Okay I have a question, if this time travel experiment has worked. Why did you want to come back here".We continue walking whilst I speak, until Claude stops and goes to answer me.
"It's my mother, you see I was 10 when she died. I just want to see her again,Because as time has past I fear I have forgotten her."
As he speaks I can't help but feel sorry for him, I glance over to the younger lad. He looks just as shocked as I am. I can't control my eyes and start to stare at him. He shows such emotion, even his eyes show everything he is feeling.
" Well I know one way that might help you"
"What could you do to help us!. I mean we're from the future. We have no money, no identity. Oh and no where to stay" snapped Adrian in a state of panic.
His once face of emotion has turned to panic and frustration. Before his face went completely red. I replied to his snappy remark.
"You don't have to take my help. I'm only offering you a job and a place to stay!"
"Ignore Adrian" Claude pipped up.
So I did.
"I work at a farm just beyond this wheat field, and it just so happens to be wheat season. So...". But before I could finish Adrian couldn't help but butt in.
"So what?, what does that have to do with us"
"Let the girl finish, what has come over you" snapped Claude
"Thank you, so we need extra workers and there is a old barn out the back where you two can stay"
"That sounds perfect" said Claude in his usual jolly self.
We carried on walking through the wheat field until we came across Rosie and Jono. I waved at them both, they looked back at me with confused faces.
"No time to talk, explain later"
We continued towards the farm house to find Nona and George. We walk through the big brown gates separating the house with the farm. As we walked through the gates I bumped into Teddy. Teddy was Nona and Georges son
"Hi there Teddy"
" Hi Erica". He didn't look up, he was to busy with his toy.
Finally we reached the farm house. I call out for Nona and George. We walk through the kitchen and I turn to see if Adrian and Claude are still right behind me. "Ahh there you two are, I've found a couple of workers for the farm. I thought they could stay in the back barn"
"Well hello Erica" said Nona in a smart voice.
" The two gentlemen with you, do they have names?"
"Yes they do this is Adrian and Cl..."
"Clarks the name" said Claude leaning his hand out for a handshake. Huh that was weird.
"So you two gentlemen want to work here"
"Yes!, we are travellers just passing through. Seasoned work is the best for us" said Claude, oh I mean 'Clark'.
"Well we will be happy to have you aboard, how does starting tomorrow morning sound" said George hopeful.
"It sounds like magic" replied Claude no I mean Clark. This is going to get confusing. I mean Claude!!!
