It was a normal day like any other, schemes being pulled, trouble and danger around each and every corner!
It was now three minutes past midnight, campers and their two counselors were sat around the fire, other then the quiet whispers between campers or counselors it was quiet. Very unusual for this small run down camp, but nice nonetheless.
This may have been the last time that everyone had a peaceful time, with no chaos, no problems, no little schemes.David looked at all his campers, smiling softly, he took a quick picture to put in the camps photo album, he felt someone lean against his leg which had been spread out near the log infront of him, he looked down and seen the trio asleep; Neil and Nikki laid on Maxes sides, Max had his small arms wrapped around their waists keeping them close, his head rested against David's leg almost his ankle, a small smile replacing his usual scowl. David wrote a small talley in the corner of his paper which held camp actives that had been done during the day "we reached twenty!" He whisper shouted to Gwen in pure excitement "That's great David" she said with a half smile as she looked up at him with her eyes which held a faint reflection of the fire.
David gave a nod as his smile widened.Over time throughout the night kids started going on the sides of Gwen and David, falling asleep, it was like one big cuddle puddle. Even Gwen fell asleep leaning against David.
"This is going to be the best year for Camp yet" he whispered to himself, he took his phone and put it on a camera stick. He put the camera out so that everyone was in the frame, he took the last group photo of the night.
He pulled his phone back over to himself and took his phone out of the holder. He leaned further into the tree behind himself, careful to not wake anyone. He drifted off with a smile, everything was perfect, everything was peaceful and still.
But all good things must come to an end...
