*Y/N POV*

Alone in a stolen boat, you race across the fog-shrouded surface of lake triumph toward grandpa's house. 

(time skip)

you reach your house...the house stands eerily silent as you approach, carefully skirting around broken furniture and fallen branches "too quiet..." I said to myself. cutting the engine, you hurriedly tie off the boat to the most submerged dock and step out onto the waterlogged boards. as you wade toward the house, you realize that one of the odd shapes floating in the water isn't debris at all... "oh no.....TIA!" I screamed, you rush forward kneeling beside her, tia stirs as you check her pulse, her eyes fluttering half-open "chad.....she's got chad.." said tia. weakly, tia tries to sit up, but immediately slumps back down "hey don't move...you're hurt," I said "I failed him again....i-i'm n-not strong enough....not..." said tia, her eyes sag closed as she slips back to unconsciousness. as gently as you can, you drag her back down the dock and left her into the boat "it's okay tia.. I'll save him" I said.

You turn back toward the house, heart heavy with dread "please....tell me I'm not too late.." I said to myself. with a final deep breath....you march up to the house, open the door, and step into the darkness beyond.

You step in.."chad?...grandpa...?" you call out but no answer. after a few agonizing moments.."y/n..is that you?" said chad "omg! chad!" you run over to him, "are you hurt did something happen?" "I guess I'm okay," said Chad. you see bruises on chad's cheekbone "oh no chad..." I said "where is grandpa? did Jessica..?" I asked ."we were upstairs trying to escape the flooding and she just came through the wall behind us," said chad "she grabbed grandpa and... I tried to stop her I swear y/n" said chad "it's totally fine--" before you could finish, something heavy crashes, against the floor upstairs, followed by a familiar voice crying in pain. "grandpa..." said chad "chad! stay here I have to help him!" I said "wait, all by yourself!? you can't!" I said "I have no other option. besides, you tried to take Jessica on solo" I said "yeah, and look how well that turned out" said chad "she's too strong, how the hell are we supposed to fight something like that!?" said chad, more crashes sound from the room above, followed by a scream! you rush for the stairs, just in time to watch your grandpa tumble down them. "grandpa!" said Chad . he crashes to the floor at your feet. his body is scored with deep claw marks, staining the water around him with a bloody halo. chad scrambles over to your grandpa, face paling at the sight of his injuries. "we need to get him out of here, y/n. if...if she hurts him much more, I don't know if he'll make it.." said chad "oh grandpa....what did she do to you? " I asked "nothing less than he deserved" said Jessica, you step forward shielding grandpa and chad with your body. Jessica floats down the stairs, one ghostly hand trailing down the rail. "stay back! I'm not letting you hurt him anymore!" I said "y/n just take chad and......run.." said grandpa "no I'm not leaving you alone" i said "oh y/n do you even know what he did?" asked jessica , I stand there quietly "he left me with those filthy creatures , he let them kill our daughter , you're mother! HE DESTROYED MY FAMILY!" said Jessica furiously "I regret it...i-i'm sorry j-jesica.." said grandpa "it's too late Robert.....TOO LATE!" said Jessica "but we can't change the past , you have to forgive him" I said "you won't understand y/n" said Jessica  "I do, but...killing grandpa won't change what they did to you" i said "he's spent the last fifty years punished for his mistakes" i said "I'm not asking you to forgive him...but hasn't he suffered enough?" I asked "oh y/n...do you know what it feels like being stabbed in the heart , drowning for years unable to die?" asked Jessica "you would know that no pain I cause will be ever enough for that man," said Jessica "but that doesn't mean I'm not going to try" said Jessica smiling "NOW STEP ASIDE BOTH OF YOU!" said Jessica to you and chad , behind you you're grandpa struggles, spitting blood into the water "damn kids,I told you to get out of here! no point in lettin' her kill are three of us" said grandpa.

You and chad share a look, then look at Jessica shoulder to shoulder. "i don't want to hurt you , but i will if that's what it takes" said Jessica "HE HAS TO PAY" said Jessica "Robert is the one to be punished , This is your last chance to leave him and live. you're not going to beat me"said jessica "I'm not scared of you i won't let you come near my family" i said .

Jessica holds out something in her hands, something metallic slowly rises out of the water...it's grandpa's marlinspike "oh no..." i said. her fists close around the spike and she levels it at you. "i suppose I can't fault you..for being stubborn it does run in the family " said Jessica "so if you're certain.." said jessica. fear creeps down your spine, but you stand firm. "i am, and I know you've gone through hell, and grandpa is partly responsible for that" I said "but we can change the past , all we can do is-"before you could finish , Jessica's hand blurs into motion , and the spike flies out of her hand. you gasp in pain as the needle-sharp tip slices open the side of your throat. "AHHH!" i scream , and....flies past you to bury itself in your grandpa's chest.

You fall to you're knees, clutching you're neck as blood pumps from the wound. you hear chad scream, the splash of grandpa collapsing into the water behind you. "move aside , chad" said jessica "no you're not gon--" before chad could finish Jessica pushes chad , he flies across the room, hitting the floor, hard . he curls into a ball groaning. "chad..." i said .....
