Her POV
9:35am, Saturday
I was running. This was it. If I got caught I would be locked away behind iron bars for the rest of my life. Not getting to experience having and taking care of my own children. I sat in the bus with my head down. Chatter filled the rows of people that sat infront and behind of me. I couldn't talk to anyone. I was lucky that no police officer saw me getting on this bus.
There's a strange man sitting next to me — he seems to be minding his business but I don't believe that. Some times I can sense him glancing over at my writing in my private diary. I didn't dare to make eye contact with him because if I made eye contact or talked to anyone on that bus they would recognise me. My face was all over the news. I couldn't trust anyone. I couldn't even trust myself anymore.
The buses' wheels closed into a stop and tons of people got on and off of the bus. I got up and I still somehow managed to keep my head down, avoiding eye contact with everyone. I carried my bag, putting my diary into my bag cautiously, trying not to drop it.
Guess what happened. Of course I managed to somehow drop the fucking book. I bent down to pick it up but I felt someone else's hand on the cover of the book. When I looked up, it was the man who sat next to me.
Shit.
I had made eye contact. His eyes widened and mine did too. He continued to pick up my book and hand it over to me. I thanked him, trying to control my shaky voice. I hurried off of that bus in an instant. I put my back pack onto my back, trying my best to balance myself.
"Shit, this money is heavy."
I said to myself, as I had stole hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why had I done this? I.. I don't know. I'm the one that stole the money. And I don't know why. I heard footsteps behind me and I took a quick glance behind me. It was man. Just an ordinary man walking behind me. Nothing to suspect. But he had familiar features of someone I had seen earlier. I stopped in my tracks.
This was the guy who was sitting next to me on the bus. Was he following me? I've walked about 5 minutes away from the bus. Of course, he could just be heading the same way as me, but..
I shook my head in denial that he was following me. The heat of the day really start to hit me. I was tempted to take my cap off, since I've had it on since the morning. . . Otherwise known as the time of the heist. I spotted a bench and walked over to it. I sat down as soon as I got to the bench and I set my things down. My legs were cramping and my legs were sweating aswell, because of the heat of the day.
