you know about imaginary friends right? you know the fake beings that children create to have an imaginary friendship? well ive had those, expept my ones are...different. Unlike other imaginary friends that leave once the child loses interest or grows out of it, mine stayed with me or at least used too. this is my story.

I was only 4 when i first made my imaginary friends, its because well i never had that many friends or well no friends at all, it was because well i was never really a talkative person, and i only spoke when spoken too, not to mention i had no brothers or sisters to learn any proper interaction with young people. But one thing i had was a very active and wide spread imagination, so i put to the test, and made an imaginary friend.

Her name was Variet, she was skinny and paper pale, with red blush and lipstick to complement her pale complection, she had peircing blue eyes that was covered with back eyeliner, she had long black hair that went down to her waist and parted in the middle, and wore a sleek dress that went down to her feet with a white fur coat that was two sizes two big. Depsite her rather matured look Variet looked the same age and size as i was.

Variet was a good a friend, she listened to me and gave support and even laughed at the dumb jokes i made about the teachers i didn't like, we played tag and paper scissors rock, and drew pictures together. She even came home with me and we would dance to britney spears and watch toy story and do movie marathones, even go out to the shops when we were hungry. Variet was the best friend ever. however when i was about 6 Variet asked me something while we were at the park ''hey Kaycee?'' she asked ''yeah?'' i responded ''can you imagine a friend like me? you know imaginary?'' she asked with a serious expression ''sure'' i said happily, and with that Chrysalis was born.

Chrysalis was the same age as i was, she had chin legth golden curly hair, grey eyes, and a yellow dress with pink lace all around it, unlike Variet Chrysalis looked her age which was something that definately releived my parents.

until i was 10 me Variet and Chrysalis were inseperable, we were the ''Art Pack'' as we called it, we would take photos together, even though i would only show up and have to draw them in the picture everytime, have makeover nights, play prank phone calls go out to sneak into movies and just about everything.

One thing about Variet and Chrysalis was that they actually aged with me and even began to look more human, they gained more weight, grew taller, hell im sure that even Chrysalis's hair grew to shoulder lenght, even their their translusent bodies became almost solid, i soon realized the more time and more belief i gave them, the more real and truly there they became.

I was soon eleven years old and by then i realized how childish it was to have an imaginary friend, so after awhile i stopped talking or even ad knowledged them and went on with my day as normal. But unlike other imaginary friends Variet and Chrysalis didnt leave, they stayed with me throughout the entire day, even though i tried to ignore them. Variet didn't seem to take this well and well she began to become...demonic. She began to start screaming my name at an extremely loud volume almost so loud that the sound was ringing in my ears for minutes afterword, she began punching walls that im sure if she was real would cause gigantic holes in them and even began to start contorting her body into humanly impossible posititions just to try and get my attention. Chrysalis was also trying to get me to pay attention to her, she would cry out my name, begging me for attention, hell she would run infront of me and get on her knees to beg me for attention, begging and pleading to atleast look at her, but i just walked past her, shutting out her begs. Then it hit me Variet and Chrysalis were no longer imaginary friends anymore, they were invisible entitys that latched onto me, with minds and personalitys of their own.

After a while i noticed that soon Variet and Chrysalis were following me slower and slower and eventually stopped altogether, had i finally gotten rid of them? had they finally faded away? i though. That all changed when i got home from school that day. I got home and opened the front door and saw Variet and Chrysalis for the first time in about 3 years, they were slumped againt the staircase holding each other in a protective embrace and well they looked horrid, they were transparent again, and bone thin, their bodys were covered in purple bruises and veins, and their hair hung lifeless over their heads. Variet looked at me with betrayel, her mascara all run down her cheeks ''dont you see what your doing to us?''she asked with desperation and bitterness ''your killing us slowly, you've neglected us to near death'' i felt an insane amount of guilt, almost like how a mother feels when she forgets to feed her baby. I promised them that i would try my best to give them as much attention and interest as i possibly could.
