S5E2: The Alcohol

[plaza]
*Jo and Nathan were walking toward everyone sitting outside at the plaza.*

Jo: So, what do you got planned for the night?

Nathan: Chargers game.

Jo: You got tickets?

Nathan: Yeah, SoFi.

Jo: With who?

Nathan: Steven.

Jo: Oh, fun.

Nathan: And, I invited Tucker. I hope that's okay.

Jo: Are you kidding, that's great! He... he doesn't have many friends around here.

Nathan: Well, now he has two.

*Jo smiled, exited for Tucker. They approached everyone else, and when I say everyone, I mean Nina, Nancy, Steven, Blake, Hallie, and her boyfriend Harry. The only person missing was Tucker because he and Jo couldn't be seen together in public. Plus, he had work. They were all just hanging out and talking.*

Nathan: Hey.

Nina: Hey guys.

Steven: Nance, what's that scar?

Nancy: Huh? Oh that's there from my 21st birthday party.

*Everyone reminisced.*

Jo: That was a good party.

Steven: It really was.

FLASHBACK TO AUGUST 6TH (THREE MONTHS AGO)
[a venue]
*It was Nancy's 21st birthday. And only a few weeks after her miscarrige. So, this was the first time she's really gotten out. The room was packed with people. There was a bar, a DJ, tables, and a dance floor. Hallie and Harry were dancing on the dance floor, while Nina and Nancy were in the bathroom.*

Nancy: How do I look?

Nina: Flawless.

Nancy: No. I still have this bump.

Nina: And it's beautiful. Your body went through something very traumatic. Cut it some slack. I have a bump, too. A little bigger than yours.

Nancy: Yeah. But you have a baby in there. I don't.

Nina: Hey, it's okay. Okay?

Nancy: Okay.

Nina: Come on.

*When they walked out, Nancy went to the bar, where she saw Nathan. However, Nina spotted Steven walk in with Blake. Her heart dropped.*

Later
[the party]
*Hallie was consoling Nina as she cried in the back corner during the party.*

Nina: *crying* We just broke up. And he's already here with someone else.

Hallie: I know, I know, shhh.

Nina: And I didn't even get to tell him that I love him. Because I do. I do love him.

Hallie: You mean... you're in love with Steven?

*Nina looked up at Hallie with her teary, red face. She nodded.*

Hallie: I'm so sorry Nina.

*Hallie held Nina.*

Nina: I hate her.

Hallie: I know, I'm sorry.

*Over by Nancy, she was taking shots with guys she didn't even recognize.*

Nancy: I'm getting drunk tonight. I don't even care. And you know, I can drink now. Did you know pregnant people can't drink?

Guy: Yeah.
