His name was Chuuya. He grew up in an orphanage and had people whom he could call family. Now, he's a 15 year old who got adopted by a woman named Koyou and today, it was his 16th birthday. He could not remember all that much about his friends back at the orphanage, but he could vaguely remember a preschooler with a tiger stuffed toy complaining about how a certain bandaged brunette was badly playing the piano. These kids were laughing. If only Chuuya had proper memories of them, he would be much happier if he could remember. What he does remember is a person from the orphanage staff named Rando. Er, at least that's what the kids used to call him. Even Chuuya back then called him that, due to the fact he stole Rando's hat once and found a word that said "Rimbaud" and the redhead being 8 at the time, didn't know how to pronounce such a European-ish word, so he just went with "Rando".

Rando was like a brother to him. Chuuya, being the hot-headed chihuahua he is, kept bickering on how he can't reach the top shelf for his favorite story book when he was a kid so he needed Rando's assistance. A brown haired boy kept insulting the redhead's height, then the boy and Chuuya usually start insulting each other for 10 minutes until Rando had to stop them. Those were the good old days. Until the day came where Rando had to leave the orphanage, because not only was he a caretaker, he was also part of the military. He's shown his "subspace ability" to Chuuya and the other kids lots of times, and the children figured it was best if he helped out the military. Not the grey-haired boy though, he was making the floor flood with tears when Rando was about to leave. Chuuya was just about to do the same, but held it in. A few hours after Rando left, the kids were playing with toys and such. Chuuya was sitting next to a tree to get some shade, he felt a little...strange today. Meanwhile the other children were playing in the sunlight. A kid with glasses was explaining a math equation to a blonde child with a farmer hat. A black-haired kid was there with the 2 blondes for a bit, but was too uninterested so he left the two to see what the other children were doing. The brunette was giving the grey-haired child a piggy back ride while they pretended that the stuffed tiger the grey-haired was holding was a superhero. "Whoosh! Whosh! Super Sushi is on his way to defeat the evil-" The bandaged boy got interrupted by a black haired child's ability.

"Rashoumon!" the ability almost ripped apart both of the boys, but luckily they dodged it. "Dazai-senpai! can I play as the villian?" asked the black haired boy with a determined face. "S-sure.. but the grown-ups said no abilities during playtime, ok?" said the mummy looking child. "Chuu~ya! Do you want to play with us? We can play as Atsushi's sidekicks together!" Then the brunette noticed that the redhead was burning up, a fever perhaps? "Dazai-saan..should we call the grown-ups? Chuuya looks sick!" the grey haired cried. The kid named Dazai nodded. Before he knew it, Chuuya fainted. When he woke up again, he was confused. Everything was pitch black- oh. He had Rando's hat on his face. It smelt weird. He took the hat off his face, only to see a horrifying sight.

His friends- no, family- are dead. the playground was bloody. His old friends were gone. Atsushi, sorta a crybaby who liked tigers, he was gone. Akutagawa, though he seems violent at first, he's a good kid at heart, he was gone. Dazai, a weird kid who shared dark topics with him, yet has a cheerful aura that affects anyone around him.He was Chuuya's childhood bestfriend. Maybe even more than that. He was gone too. They all were. Chuuya cried and screamed for god knows how long. He finally let out the flood of tears he was holding back. He didn't care how this happened. All that mattered to him was that everyone he loved was now gone. Dead. Deceased. That was 2 years ago. Chuuya was 13 back then, today, it's his 16th birthday. Koyou, his mother, approached him with a smile on her face. "Chu-Chu! Are you ready for your birthday?" Chuuya didn't respond. He was just silently looking at the window with curtains on it, so it was quite dark. Then his mother flipped the curtain to gain her son's attention. Then there was sunlight on the boy's face, he still didn't budge though. "Come on Chuuya. We even have a special guest from the orphanage you were in!" The redhead flinched. Was it one of the staff? Was it one of his friends? Were they still possibly alive? Will his heart be full once more? Chuuya ran for the door, he knocked off some vases here and there, and when he arrived at the door, he opened it.

But what greeted him was someone he thought was gone for a long, long time. Rando.
