The rest of the group didn't waste more time and turned around as well, discovering the bad surprise that was waiting for them behind their backs. Quickly, Hux, Chewie and Poe held out their weapons but with a simple flick from his wrist, one of the Knights disarmed them and stepped forward, removing his helmet.
"I really wanted to thank you. Thanks to your work, we avoided losing time and energy for nothing. Now, I'm asking you to step away so we can welcome our Lord and Master."
"Yeah sure, you moron. Palpatine isn't /our/ Lord. And we won't let you bring him back."
The man glared darkly at Poe but the pilot didn't look away neither. On the contrary, he arched a brow and crossed his arms on his chest. The Knight didn't move, continuing on his little speech calmly.
"But you have no choice now. He's already on his way and he'll be here soon."
Dameron let out a small smile.
"Alright, so contrary to all of you, I don't have a lot of knowledges about the Jedi or Sith culture. I don't know a lot of things about the Force but I know how to listen when I'm being said something. And because of that, I know that only one person would be able to come back tonight. And your gaunt buddy won't be able to pass through if someone else is coming before him."
Obviously, Poe hit the bull's eye as the light into the Knight's glance changed slightly. Noticing that he had all his attention, the pilot's smile grew wilder and he kept on.
"And I also know how to distract a dumbass. Ly'ra now!"
Without being seen by anyone, the young woman had called out her powers and with a quick flick from her wrists, she pushed away most of the Stormtroopers across the room. Surprised, the Knight turned around just when the young woman flew the weapons into their owners's hands. Poe smiled before punching the Knight's jaw.
"That feels good!"
The following second, shots arrived from everywhere and the group ended up stuck in the room, hidden behind rocks as they were trying to push back the soldiers. Rey activated her saber and shielded her friends, protecting them from Blasters' shots, helped by Cane. At the same time, Ly'ra turned her eyes on the door and an idea suddenly popped into her mind.
"Rey, go!"
The young woman turned her eyes on her friend before following her gaze. Suddenly understanding her plan, the Jedi didn't think twice about it and jumped through the door and it closed right behind her. Poe glanced at his wife, avoided a blaster's shot before shooting back and asking in the same time:
"And now?"
The young woman shrugged before starting to shoot at the Stormtroopers as well.
"Now we wait, we guard the entrance and we hope she'll find him quickly!"
The following moment though, she leaned forward, trying to hold back a cuss as a searing pain froze her suddenly. Dameron hurried by her side, covered by Chewie's and Hux's shots.
"Ly'ra! What is it love? Are you hurt?"
The young woman didn't answer right away, trying to force the pan away with a breathing exercise, but this time, it didn't work.
"Answer me love! Ly'ra?"
After several seconds, she finally looked up with teary eyes at her husband and offered him a sad smile.
"I think your kid chose the worst time to arrive..."
"What??"
Noticing the distress into his ex fiancée's eyes, Hux stepped closer as well, frowning, and keeping an eye on their opponents.
