Chapter 19- Sick

MINNIE

As I returned back home, I sat down thinking why could they be after her? Why are they here? Why are they just not taking action yet? Maybe, could they be waiting for the right time? This is so confusing. There's more people apart of things like this? I thought it was just me and MY family! My family, Serenity's family, and that's basically it! There should be no other mafia families around here, or anyone who would like to hurt any of us...there should be none... I sighed as I laid down in my bed. Coughing a little as soon as my back hit the soft and silky sheets of my bed. I covered my mouth but the coughing continued.

I walked to the kitchen and was about to return back to my room when I felt a tug on my shirt. I looked down to which I was revealed to my little sister looking up at me, Frisk. I smiled and said "What's wrong, baby?" She smiled and hugged my leg. I smiled and crouched down to hug her back and I kissed her forehead in the process. "Just wanted to give me a hug?" She nodded her head and said "Ebybody deserbe hugs!" I nodded my head and said "Yes, everyone deserves to feel the love. Especially yours." She giggled and ran back to her room. I smiled and soon it faded away due to my coughing. I covered my mouth and went back to my room.

Now, you may ask, are you getting sick, Minnie? I've been sick for awhile. Yes, my parents are informed about it, but they don't know that this is a chronic illness. I never tell them if the symptoms come back, instead, I hide it. It can be cured, but I refuse to go to the hospital. It can be cured through surgery and no thank you, I don't want that. I'll be fine, I can survive this. I've survived the flu without any medicine. Besides, if I don't survive it, I'll finally be at peace with myself. Death will take me away, as it should...I've been waiting for the opportunity to die, but it never comes to me, so, I'm going to let this sickness kill me. I'm not letting no dumb surgery get in the way of it.

But, Minnie. You have your parents to think about. Wanna know my answer to that? They have other kids, they can survive without one. They wouldn't mind losing one because they have 5 other children. One will just be one less mouth to feed. I took a sip out of my water bottle, and wiped the wetness from my mouth. I let out a sigh of refreshment and laid back down on my bed. I closed my eyes hoping I would die in my sleep or something, but before I could fall asleep. Ding! My phone beeps. I roll over to look at it and there I see a message from Autumn.

Autumn: Hey girl! Just checking up on you. You made it home safely, right?

Me: Yes, I did. Thanks for checking up.

Autumn: No problem! Where were you after school by the way? I literally couldn't spot you anywhere.

Me: I had forgotten about one of my notebooks in the locker so I went back to get it.

Autumn: Ah, makes sense. You retrieved it?

Me: Yes, I did. 😂

Autumn: Alright. How's everyone doing over there?

Me: Everyone's fine. Frisk just gave me a hug when I went to get a water bottle.

Autumn: Aaww!! She's adorable!! And my adopted son? And the rest of the kids?

Me: I haven't seen the rest of the kids yet but I'm sure your "adopted son" is doing well. Probably playing with one of the kids or something.

Autumn: Ima have to go over one day and pay a visit. Or even have a sleepover.

Me: yeah for real 😂😂 I'll be waiting for that day to come. I need some company over here.

Autumn: Aight, maybe over the weekend or maybe even a couple weeks. ☺️

Autumn: Oh, Beomgyu's gonna be knocking on your window in about a couple minutes.

Suddenly I heard knocking. I deleted what I was typing and messaged "He's here."

I ran to my window and opened it. Which revealed a Beomgyu staring at me with his adorable big eyes. "Hi there." I smiled "Hi there, cutie." I helped him inside and he said "I'm here for that date." I blushed and said "D-date...?" He nodded his head and said "It's not much, but I promise I'll take you out for an even better one sometime. For now, we can use your room as a date area." I smiled and hugged him. Which he hugged me back and nuzzled his face into my shoulder. "You're so warm, little mouse..." I giggled and said "Yeah, you are too. I could stay in your embrace for hours." We let go of each other and sat down on my bed.

I handed him a controller and put on Mario Kart. Of course, he chose his character as Yoshi. I chose Inkling Girl cause why not. We chose a tournament cup to play and got to racing.

About 16 tournament cups later, we got tired and both fell on the bed, our hands aching from playing so much. Beomgyu rolled over to look at me and got closer so he could nuzzle me. I laughed and said "Why so many nuzzles?" He said "It's cute, and everyone loves nuzzling!" I smiled and played with his brown hair... he pouted up at me and said "Minnie, you're still not getting bullied, right...?" I sighed and said "Well, for the mean time, it has stopped. But, she will be back..." He pouted even more and said "Tell me when the bullying continues and I'll handle it." I nodded my head no and said "No, bad Beomgyu." He pouted and folded his arms.

I stood back up and sat on Beomgyu's lap, wrapping my legs around his waist, and my arms behind his neck, and I laid my head on his shoulder. I could feel his cheeks heat up as he slowly hugged me back. "T-this is something new..." I nodded my head and said "Sometimes, I just need extra affection from others..." He slowly smiled and rubbed my head. "It's alright, I'm the same way...that's why you'll see me coming to your house a lot..." I looked up at him and said "You as well?" He nodded his head and said "Yeah, I need extra affection too. Extra attention as a matter of fact. I just feel like no one's able to give it to me..." I cupped his cheeks and said "I'll be here to give you extra affection whenever you may need it. I promise." He nodded his head and our faces got closer together...
