The first couple of paragraphs are basically what has happened to me in the past couple of weeks. I have started to buy a shit ton of bracelet making supplies and CDs. But it keeps me happy so... I keep doing it. Anyway. Hope you enjoy this oneshot❤️. Title from "Gossip Girl" by Grace Vanderwaal.
After Julie had taught Alex how to make bracelets, it's all he did to fill his time. There's nothing you can really do as a ghost to fill your time that doesn't make Alex bored. Willie is around but is often off skating somewhere. So, Alex fills his time making bracelets.
Julie bought him some elastic string, pony beads, letter beads, and some glow-in-the-dark star beads. He's already made so many in the three days of having the supplies. So, he gives them to his friends. Willie loves his bracelets and Alex even made him a choker.
Another thing that Alex loves, that he even loved back when he was alive is CDs. He had a CD player in his bedroom and would listen to them almost 24/7. He didn't know if people still used CDs anymore, but then remembered that Julie played their demo to bring them here so, maybe.
Alex knocked on Julie's door. "Come in!" he heard from the other side of the door and he walked through.
"Hey, Alex," Julie said, looking up from her laptop. She was sitting on her bed, her back to the pillows and her laptop laying on her legs.
"Hey. Um... I got a question." Alex walked over to her bed. She patted the spot next to her and he sat down.
"Okay."
"Do people still use CDs? Or I guess, do they still make them?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Oh. I was just wondering because I used to listen to CDs all the time when I was alive and just miss it, I guess."
A smile formed on Julie's face.
"What? What are you smiling about?"
"I have the perfect CDs for you!" Julie opened a new tab on her laptop and opened Amazon. "Done!" She said, after a few moments of typing and clicking.
"Done with what exactly?"
"Ordering you CDs. I have the perfect ones for you to listen to. They'll be here in a few days so then you can use the CD player in the studio."
"Really? Thank you so much!"
A few days later, Julie walked into the studio, carrying a box. Alex was sitting on the floor, against the couch making bracelets. He looked up when he saw her coming.
"Hey."
"Hey. What's with the box?"
"This," Julie plopped down next to Alex. "Is all the CDs I ordered."
"Wow."
"Yeah. So I'm going to show you everything that I got you."
Julie proceeded to pull out five CDs. "This is 1989, reputation, Lover, folklore, and evermore. They're by Taylor Swift. She's the best singer/songwriter of my generation and if you don't like Taylor, we can't be friends."
"Okay. Gosh."
"Now. This next one is a single. It's "Kiss the Boy" by Keiynan Lonsdale. That one is really good, too."
Alex nodded. Julie started a stack of all the CDs she was pulling out on the floor beside her.
"This is Kid Krow by Conan Gray. Again, you don't like the artist, I don't like you," Julie pulled out two more. "Melodrama and Pure Heroine by Lorde. Some of my faves. Now, this is just to get you started so if you want more, just simply ask. Okay?"
Alex nodded quickly. "Thank you so much, Jules."
"Of course."
A few weeks later, Willie and Alex were hanging out in the loft just laying next to each other. Alex was telling Willie about his week. "And Julie got me some CDs and they're all really good. She has good taste."
"Oh really? What music is it?"
"Uh... Conan Gray, Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Keiynan Lonsdale."
"Damn, she does have good taste."
Alex giggled.
"Where's the CD player?"
Alex pointed to where they had moved the CD player up in the loft.
Willie got up and walked over to it. He got Lover and placed it on the CD spindle and closed the lid. He let it load and then skipped to track three. Soft music began to play through the speakers.
"Come on, hotdog." Willie reached out his hand.
"What?"
"Get up here."
Alex stood up and Willie pulled him in and they started dancing.
"You know... you're my lover," Willie said as he laid his head against Alex's chest.
"And you are mine."
