Lance Lock.
"Well at least I'm still nice." he stared me down.
"What's that supposed to mean?" he rolled his eyes at me.
"'Well maybe if people did something right they wouldn't get fired,' sound familiar to you?" he narrowed his eyes at me.
"NObody did ANYthing right," he replied sharply.
"So you fired them."
"Yup and-"
"AND you lost MY family business to financial issues." I interrupted.
"I didn't mean to do that." he looked at the ground and I could hear it in his voice he was sorry for that. "And I'll do anything to get it back or at least help you get it back."
"You wanna help?" he nodded "Okay you can start by calling this number and make arrangements to get the stadium light up again under my name. Then call the second number to contact my keeper so he can make arrangements to have my horses moved here within the next two weeks." I wrote down the two numbers and handed him the paper. "I'll come to see you in a bit."
"You got it." he headed towards his house.
Well, at least I have someone to take care of the phone for me.

Knock. Knock. "Hay you in here?" I asked through the door. I'm standing on the other side of the black door to the Lock Family Line Office. The office line was where all the business phone calls were made.
I heard footsteps. "Right this way." He said opening the door. I walked in to see that nothing has really changed. Just maybe the fact that it isn't as clean as it used to be. "I know I haven't been keeping my house the way it is supposed to be."
"But you did take care of my house for the time being. From what I was told you were thee only one that was allowed in my room." he smiled and nodded. I smiled "Why was that?"
"Why was what?" he handed me a paper that had the dates and time of the lights being taken care of to the last move of my horses.
"Impressive. But, why only you?"
"Nobody is worthy enough." I raised a brow at him. He sighed and continued, "I don't trust that many people so I didn't let anyone clean your room. I did it to be sure of all the stuff there."
"And because you missed me," I whispered.
He looked shocked for a second turning away so I could see his face he replied, "Maybe."
"Maybe. Or yes?" I stood up and shoulder bumped him.
He smiled and looked at me. It happens so fast one second I was standing in front of him and the next I'm being cradled in his lap on the couch. I tried to push away from him. "Lance, what are you doing?"
"Shhh, please don't talk." he buried his face in the crook of my neck. I silenced, what can I say? I don't really know what to do. I closed my eyes and rested my head on him. He made a sound and tighter his grip on me. Then I felt it. His lips were so soft on my skin but at the same time so hard.
I pulled away. "I don't understand." looking at him I could tell that was probably the wrong thing to say.
"I know but I don't have time to explain. There's going to be an over-the-phone meeting soon and I need to pick it up." he sat me beside him on the couch and got up. "Just don't overthink this till we can talk it out." The phone rang. "Hello, yes it is, yes I did, so when will..."
