Victoria G: What inspired you to become an actress?
Mia Bella: Apparently, I've always loved the spotlight. So when I was 3 1/2, my parents put me in musical theatre and I discovered my love for performing.
VG: Who are your acting inspirations?
MB: Number one is Meryl Streep.
VG: What is your favorite thing about acting?
MB: I get to meet a lot of cool, extremely talented and creative people - both in front of and behind the camera.
VG: What was your first acting job?
MB: I played a bearded elf in a commercial!
VG: What is your favorite project you have ever done?
MB: I so love playing Kali on Gabby Duran & the Unsittables.
VG: What are some qualities you look for in a project?
MB: I love roles where I can use my singing, dancing and martial arts skills. I also like roles where the character's life experience is very different from my own.
VG: One of your most notable roles was as Kali in The Disney Channel series, Gabby Duran & the Unsittables. What can you share about your time working on that series?
MB: This was my first recurring role on a TV series and going into it, I had no idea or expectation of the kind of camaraderie I would feel from the cast and the crew. I had no idea that I would make so many friends. The main cast and the crew and parents of the other actors were so welcoming and kind every time I was on set. It really has been an amazing experience.
VG: Which character that you have played so far has been the most similar to you?
MB: Definitely Kali! We are both fierce protectors of those close to us, and we both have weapons skills!
VG: What inspired you to become a singer?
MB: It really was a natural progression. My parents always say that I've been singing for almost as long as I could talk. I started in musical theatre when I was about 3 1/2, then started voice lessons and performing around town. And now I have some cool musical projects coming out soon!
VG: What is your favorite thing about singing?
MB: Seeing how it can bring emotion out in people.
VG: Who are your musical inspirations?
MB: Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Adele, Alicia Keys
VG: What messages are important for you to express through your music?
MB: It's important for me to be able to express things my way. I don't have a lot of life experience yet to draw on for writing songs, so putting my spin on a particular song is a good way for me to express myself.
VG: Do you play any instruments?
MB: Yes, I play the piano!
VG: What inspired you to become a dancer?
MB: It was just another one of those things that was kind of a way of life for me from when I was very little.
