The Secrets of the Castle

Introduction

Hi there! Thanks for clicking on this story, it means a lot to me. So, this is kinda my first story I'm posting, so sorry if it sucks. Any feedback is appreciated. Commenting and voting also helps 'cause it keeps me motivated. Anyways, before we get started with the story, I want to go over a few things.

Firstly, the 6 characters, their pronouns, and ages;

Ajay - 20 y.o., He/Him (Pronounced A-jay)

Aryn - 21 y.o.,  She/Her (Pronounced like Erin)

Arwin - 18 y.o., They/Them (Pronounced ar-win)

Eroi - 23 y.o., She/Her (Pronounced Air-roy)

Reliu - 19 y.o., He/They (Pronounced Ray-lee-u)

Karik - 19 y.o., All pronouns (She/her preferrably) (Pronounced Car-rick)

Secondly, the setting;

So, it takes place in the main city of the Kingdom of Acarius (A-care-re-us). There are 5 other cities within the kingdom, spread out across the area. The main city is called Willowsdale and is in the center of the kingdom. At the very center of the town is the castle where the Royals live. Surrounding it are various homes and shops for the citizens.  The farmers live on the outskirts of town where they grow the food for everyone. The city itself is surrounded by a large gate.

Magic does exist within the story, but only a few people use it. Mages require certain objects in order to use the magic, like spell books and potion ingredients. 

Social Hierarchy:

At the top are the Royals. The King and Queen control the Kingdom and decisions have to go through them first. Their oldest son would inherit the throne once both can't lead or die. If the oldest son is still young (Under 15), then an advisor would be placed with him until he turns 15. The other children are expected to be married off in order to form connections. Current Royals on the throne are King Alion and Queen Lucia. Their oldest child and only daughter is Aryn. Their oldest son and second child is Ajay. Their youngest child and son is Arwin.

Underneath them is the Council. This consists of the governors of the other towns and the army chief. They are the most trusted people to the Royals. 

Next is the High Class. These are the wealthiest people that live in the towns of the Kingdom. They have the most power and live in the largest houses. Most people in this class are part of the army or come from wealthier families.

Below them is the Commonfolk. This would be the Middle Class. They have some power, but not much. A lot of people in this class are merchants, farmers, and other people. 

And finally is the underclass. These or the poorest within the kingdom. Many of them are servants, criminals, and unemployed people. They have no power and are typically pushed around by the higher classes. They live in the smallest and dirtiest homes.

Other Notes:

There are mentions of trauma, emotional and physical abuse, and slave-like servitude. None of it is described in much detail to keep it a little lighter, but there will be subtle mentions throughout the story. Trigger warnings will be stated at the start of the chapter when necessary.

This will have LGBTQ+ people, that's kind of part of the story, so if you don't like that then you can leave. No discrimination here.

This is my first story, so sorry if it's a little bad.
