There once was a girl whom everyone found plain, maybe you knew her-but even if you believed you once did, if you were to consider her plain that would be one large omission for you to make.
However you would not be at fault for making such an omission; as her family make her out to be as unnoticeable, and soulless as they possibly could. They treated her like she was a mere piece of garbage on ones floor that one might see, but ignore, as they are too lackadaisical. And to be human, but, compared to garbage is quite the insult. Amalia was that girl. Her name meaning work. Her parents intentions when naming her were not trying to say in the slightest that she would be a hardworking girl with great fortitude- but that she was work. Work for them. But, aperatally if she had been a male, they would have named her "derek", meaning 'ruler of people'. And as I do not know this for sure, I shall have to infer, contemplate this. If your parents were to name you thine ruler of people-they must think of you to be worthy to rule over others, furthermore meaning you are seen by them to be better than others. Particularly, a better choice for a ruler than a girl.
They did already have a male child in the family-Adalbert- (meaning noble and wise) they just would have been very pleased to have another, and very displeased to not have another. However, everyone loses once in their lifetime, not to say that having a girl as your hier is bad, but, for Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht it was sure a disappointment.
Glossary
Lackadaisical- lacking enthusiasm and determination; carelessly lazy
Fortitude- courage in pain or adversity
Omission-someone or something that has been excluded (in this epilogue I use it in this word in the same way as I would use the word mistake, or "thing you left out")
Author's comment
The epilogue is now done!
I hope it is not TOO confusing. I am open to suggestions and edits to the plot and my grammar, just comment! ;)
