Kokichi POV

I put on one of my nicer outfits for our picnic date today, it's our 5 year anniversary and we decided to have a date in the park where I confessed to him. I feel the black box in my pocket, today's the big day. I make sure that the box is shoved deep in my pocket and go back to fixing my bandana.

After a few minutes I feel arms wrap around me, "you look amazing." He rests his head on my shoulder. "I can say the same to you."

After today he will no longer be my boyfriend.

"You ready to go?" He asks. "Yes, I am" I answer.

We get to the park and it's mid spring, so it's stunning. During sunset, that's when it happens.

We set up the picnic blanket under a shady tree and got the food out. We decided to make this reminiscent of how we met. We met under a tree just outside the school during lunch, I had a pb and j as I had forgotten my lunch and he had a bento box.

We start eating and talking until the sun started to set. Time to go.

"Wanna walk around, Shu?" "Sure" We get up and I cling to his arm as per usual. I'm pretty sure he's used to it at this point. I guide him to the cherry blossom tree where I confessed my love for him. Show time.

I reach into my pocket with the ring in it with one hand and hold Shuichi's hand with the other. "Shu, I love you so much. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love you more than anything. You're kind and smart and affectionate, I doubt I can possibly love someone more than you. I know I can count on you whenever, cuz even if you're tired from overworking yourself, you still set aside time to give me hugs and cuddles and kisses, and you should know you can count on me whenever, like when you're drunk and clingy and even more anxious. Anyways, I guess what I'm trying to say is..."

I get down on my knee and open the box with the ring in it. He gasps and tears start to form in his eyes.

"Shumai, will you marry me?"

He seems to be at a loss of words for a minute before he finally speaks.

"Yes! Yes, I'll absolutely marry you!!!"

I put the ring on his finger and stand up. He immediately embraces me in a super tight hug. "I love you so so so much." He whispers and kisses my cheek. "I love you more" I kiss him back, "let's go clean up our picnic site and go home." "Can we cuddle?" "Of course dear."

When we get home, we decide to watch the Peanuts movie, as it was the movie we watched on our first date. Shuichi falls asleep half way through the movie and I decide to just sleep there, not wanting to disturb his sleep.
