The Truth

*the next day*

I don't really remember anything from last night because of my stupid powers messing with my body. I slowly sat up in my bed and just sat there staring at the ground. 

"Hey Rayne, you okay?" Steve said as he was standing in the door way.

"Oh ya sorry I guess I just zoned out , and how long were you standing there?!" I said as I stood up to go down to the kitchen.

"Woah oh my gosh your walking perfectly fine!" Steve shouted in excitement as he walked with me down to the kitchen.

"Ya I guess so, I mean I feel completely fine I think that thing went away."

as we entered the kitchen Steve started to sing this really corny song about how I was feeling fine and I could walk again.

" WALKING, WALKING SHE CAN FINALLY WALK I DONT HAVE TO CARRY HER AROUND ANYMOREEEEEE I LOVE WALKING AND I HOPE SHE CONTINUES TO WALKKKKK!"

" Oh.my.gosh. that was horrid." I said laughing as I headed over to the fridge to get stuff for a smoothie. I grabbed a banana, some frozen strawberries, an avocado, and some yogurt. as I was putting all the ingredients into the blender I heard the front door open and in walked the most beautiful man I had ever seen, he was around 6 foot tall, he had shoulder length brown hair, the most gorgeous blue eyes and an extremely fit body and as strange as it sounds a metal arm. He looked like someone I knew but I didn't think much about it. The man started to walk towards the island where I was making my smoothie so I immediately stopped staring at him and went back to making my smoothie. He sat down on one of the bar stools and didn't say anything. 

"can I help you?" I said to the gorgeous man.

"Oh ya sorry I'm a friend of Steve's" he said as he looked me straight in the eyes.

I didn't say anything for a couple seconds because I got lost in his bright blue eyes.

"Hello?" he said sounding very confused.

"Oh sorry I must have zoned out, Steve was just in here I'm not sure where he went but make yourself at home I guess." I said as I poured my smoothie into a mason jar.

"Your eyes are really pretty by the way like they look like little oceans" the man said as he watched me get a straw from the kitchen drawer.

"Oh thanks I guess" I said as I started blushing like crazy hoping he wouldn't notice.

"Well I'm gonna go up to my room so ill see you later maybe" I told the man as I started to walk away.

"Wait are you not gonna tell me your name?"

"Oh sorry it's Rayne, Rayne Maximoff"

"Rayne... that's a beautiful name I'm Bucky Barnes"

"Well Bucky Barnes I hope I see you around again"

After i got up to my room I watched an episode of my favorite show, Euphoria while i finished my smoothie. Once I finished it was around 10:00am so I decided I should probably get ready. i went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and do my skin care. after I finished doing all that important stuff I picked out my outfit. I wasn't doing anything today cause technically I should still be resting and listening to what Bruce said. I chose to wear a black hoodie that I got when I first came here and black track pants, I threw my long brown hair up into a messy bun and headed downstairs again to hang out with everyone.

"THERE SHE IS" Steve yelled as he threw his arms around me for a hug.

"here I am" I jokingly said

"Rayne I want you to meet Buc-"

"Yeah we met in the kitchen when I was making breakfast" I said as I cut Steve off.

"Oh okay" Steve said as he gave a look to Bucky.

"Well anyways what are we doing today?"

"You are supposed to be resting so that's what you're doing today, speaking of which WHY ARENT YOU RESTING?!" Tony barked as he got up from the couch.

"Jeez let the kid live Tony." Nat said while shooting a look to Tony.

"What's with all these looks you guys are giving each other its freaking me out!?"

"Well Rayne we have something very important to tell you." Steve said as he rested his hand on my shoulder. he'd always use my shoulder as an arm rest cause he was like 6 feet tall and I was like 5'6, 5'7 at best.

"We think you should take a seat for this" Nat said not even looking at me.

"What happened?" 

"Well we think its finally time you learn the truth about your past" Tony said as he turned around and faced the fire pit. he always did stuff to make everything more dramatic and this was one of them.

"What do you mean? I thought you guys adopted me?" I said very confused

"Well no we didn't but this is going to be hard to hear"

"I can take it"

" I hope so, I just want you to know that we kept this a secret from you for so long because we wanted to protect you." tony said now turned away from the fire place and looking at me. I didn't say anything I just simply nodded for him to continue.
