Twinkle Meets KeepxOut #1

The date was August 24th, 2021. Talia Caldera (Twinkle) was making something fun in science class. She had an orange in one hand and a knife in the other. She started to cut the orange into slices.

???: Hey there. What are you doing?

Talia saw a boy about her age looking at her little experiment. This boy was named Rhys Hewitt (KeepxOut #1).

Twinkle: Just a little science experiment. I want to see if it works. I'm glad you came over actually. You can be my little assistant.

KeepxOut #1: Cool. What can I do?

Twinkle: Can you get me some baking soda, please?

KeepxOut #1: Baking soda. Okay, I'm on it.

He found the baking soda and handed it to Talia.

Twinkle: Thanks. Watch this.

She put at least a half of a teaspoon of baking soda on a plate. She then dipped a slice of the orange into the baking powder.

Twinkle: Wanna try one?

KeepxOut #1: Sure.

He took a bite, and immediately his eyes squinted.

KeepxOut #1: It's so sour!

Twinkle: Well, oranges are citrus fruit, like lemons and limes. They are filled with citrus acid.

KeepxOut #1: That's a really cool experiment.

Twinkle: Thank you. I'm Talia.

KeepxOut #1: I'm Rhys.

Twinkle: Nice to meet you, Rhys.

KeepxOut #1: Is it okay if I have another slice of orange?

Twinkle: I don't mind. With or without the baking soda?

KeepxOut #1: I'll try one without the baking soda this time.

He took another slice of the orange and ate it.

KeepxOut #1: I love oranges.

Twinkle: I can also do this experiment with a lemon or lime. Do you like those fruits, too?

KeepxOut #1: Yeah.

Twinkle: Well, let's try the lemon now.

And so, the 2 kids had fun with this little experiment.
