To love is to burn

Hi everyone! Ioana here :) I really hope you'll like this story! If you do, I post a few stories on my TikTok as well, so don't hesitate to check them out (my username is rocknrollbabyy). Enjoy!

Love.

The feeling that set you on fire and let you burn.

The feeling that consumed every single part of you, but you allowed it to because its flames felt oh so sweet.

Love.

The feeling that he was taught would weaken him, and that she was taught would be the only thing she would ever be good at.

Now, this was no ordinary story. This wasn't your typical boy-meets-girl, instant love story. This wasn't a picture-perfect romance.

This was a tale of two nations that were ruled by anger and wrath, and of two children that were forced into their war.

This was a tale of a prince and a princess that were alike in many ways. The tale of a boy and girl that were shown how to despise each other before they'd even met.

It was the story of a young man with a devilish gleam in his icy blue eyes and of a young woman with stars in her deep brown ones. The story of two royals that had everything in common, and yet didn't at the same time.

Because he had chosen to believe his father and his teachings, whereas she had decided to do everything in her power to prove him wrong.

He was prince Belial Kane of the Blackwell bloodline; he couldn't show weakness, or mercy, or, God-forbid, love. He was the perfect, emotionless ruler, just like his father had wanted him to be – a great asset in the war against the Ashford clan.

But Pandora Evangeline Ashford hadn't been fooled. She hadn't been born just to be a pretty housewife that one could push around. She was a princess, and a soon-to-be queen... If she found a suitable king, that was.

And yet she had never given up on her hope. She had never given up on the hope that women in her kingdom would be treated respectfully one day. And she had fought tooth and nail to show her father who she really was.

Because she wasn't dumb, and she most definitely wasn't naïve. She knew her worth, and she knew that she could be the greatest fighter her nation had ever seen.

That was another difference between the two heirs.

She wanted to be seen and wasn't allowed to, and he wanted to stay hidden but was forced into the spotlight.
