Clary looked like a lost puppy, she didn't know who to choose. So I read the blond dude's mind. Apart from the little attraction he felt for Clary, he was really curious about her and really wanted to help. He seemed to only have good intentions. I shot my hand towards Simon red sparks surrounding my hand, and Simon was lifted on the air, 10 inches from the ground with red mist surrounding his body.
Jace was going to take out his blade but Clary stopped him. I was happy that she wasn't scared of me. Before Jace could open his mouth. Simon asked a lot of questions.
"E-Emilia, wh-what are you doing?, how do you do th-that?" He asked slightly scared.
"I don't know. I just can, they appeared when I was little." I said, I was telling half of the truth, right now wasn't the right moment to explain the story of my life.
"Anyway, let's go, you're both confusing Clary, so I'm making the choice, as the older one here." I was older than both my friends and Jace looked one or two years younger than me.
"How do we know that this Mick Jagger-looking guy is even going to try..." Simon starts but is cut off by an annoyed Jace.
"Mundane, we do not have the time."
"I read his mind, he really wants to help us." Once again they looked at me surprised." Let's keep moving."
I walked to the front porch of the church,I could see how large and big it was. It had the same height of one the other typicals New York's skyscrapers. When Jace opened the door, I let Simon walk inside, then got in.
"Woah."
I was mesmerised, we stood in a little hallway with elevators that led to a room with big screens and monitors everywhere, everyone was dressed in black. It looked like a badass HQ from a movie. Simon clearly couldn't see it, he was more a geek than I was but he didn't react. I looked at my side to see Jace burn himself with a pen thingy. Simon and I looked at Clary in concern, but she just nodded.
"I know, trust me." She told us.
"He's like burning himself." Simon said not trustful at all.
Jace suddenly took Simon's hand.
"Buddy, what's going on, man?" Simon said gay panicking, but Jace just looked ahead of him." I'm not your type, man. I don't even..."But he didn't finish as he had the same look I surely had."Where are we?" He stammers."What the hell? Clary is there a war going on that I don't know about?"
"There is now." Jace says and walks away.
"I think my mother's at the center of it." Clary walks away too and I follow her.
"You coming?" Jace asks Simon who stayed behind eyes and mouth wide open.
"What is this place? There's a lot of gear in here. What's they do, rob a tech shop?" Simon questioned when we stopped in front of a big screen. Jace tapped on the screen and the camera footage of the outside of the church appeared.
"So this cold-blooded killer is gonna help us?" Simon asks.
"He's not a killer, he's protecting us." Clary defends.
"Specifically, you. It sort of our thing." He said to Simon and I.
"Your thing? You guys have a thing?" Simon asks ironically but, Clary doesn't get it, well she never did anyways.
"He means a Shadowhunter thing." Clary starts.
"What is a Shadowhunter anyway?" I ask curiously.
"That's what they do, they protect humans from demons." Ahhh, so those things we saw at the Pandemonium were demons, understandable.
"Demons, right. That makes perfect sense. Cause there are demons all around New York." Simon remarked sarcastically.
