Unfortunate Events: An SVU Fanfiction (The Sequel)

Grandpa?

Monique's POV:

I walk into my house with a bag of groceries. Olivia is sitting on the couch watching a football game on television. Carolynn is sitting at the dining room table doing homework. This family feels broken. I look over to Olivia. She takes a gulp of Balkan 176 Vodka. AKA one of the strongest alcohols in the world. I look right next to her and see an already empty bottle of something. I put away the groceries and walk over to Oliva and snatch the bottle away. She shoots up standing three inches above me. I slightly lift up my head. 

"You are not doing this. You are not gonna turn out like your mother."

That tics her off a lot more. She grabs me by the shoulders and shakes me violently. She slams me onto the wall.

"YOU, YOU'RE TRYING TO TEST ME ARENT YOU!"

Carolynn looks up from her English essay. She watches like a lost child which she is. Olivia raises her hand to hit me. Before she could I push her away. She is stronger than me but not that stronger than me. I pick up the bottle of vodka and yell at her.

"YOU HAVE A CHOICE ME AND LYNN. OR FERMENTED GRAINS."

I cool off a little and get distracted by a very upset Lynn.

"Can you guys please stop? You're scaring me."

Olivia tries to comfort her but instead of her hugging her back. Lynn runs off as if she's scared of Olivia. I gather myself and quietly say.

"Look what you did now your own daughter is afraid of you."

She tries to pull me in for a kiss. I pull away and finish.

"And your wife."

Before I could walk away the phone rings I pick it up.

"Hello."

"Monique is Carolynn with you?"

"Yes, Mel she is. What's wrong."

"Sade was taken by our father."

"Okay, I'm coming to help you."

I grab my coat and walk out. As I am walking I put on my coat. When I lift my arm to do so. I feel a sharp pain in my shoulder. I look at it and see a fresh bruise. Damn Olivia bruised me.  I arrive at Mel's house. Fin arrived at the same time as me. The police officers leave as we come in. Mel is on the couch. She seems frustrated. Before we could even comfort her the doorbell rings. Fin opens the door. In steps sade. She's holding a lollipop in one hand and a stuffed carebear in the other. Mel runs up to her baby and starts frantically checking her. 

"Sade where have you been."

She innocently replies.

"With grandpa. He took me to the boardwalk. He said he had to quickly go so he said see you later."

Fin zooms out of the already half-open door. He runs behind a speeding car. He shoots the car but it keeps going. He comes back and picks up his daughter and gives her a kiss on the cheek. He looks at his wife and says.

"She's safe and that's all that matters. I'll kill him later."

Before I could do anything. I get a call from Carolynn.

"Momma there's a random package at the front door. It's from an unknown person."

I look at Melinda and say.

"Lynn just found a random package at the front door. Do you think it has anything to do with him?"

Without even thinking she says.

"It has everything to do with him."

I put the phone back to my ear.

"Baby get to the back of the house and take your mother with you."

There's a pause. 

"Monique? It's Olivia we are actively heading towards the back door. We will be fin-"

The phone cracks up and there's an explosion. By now I am already in the car headed home. I drive even faster and think about the last thing I said to Olivia. I told her I was afraid of her. And what about my daughter. I don't remember hugging her before I left. What if they're dead?
