Alvin and Levi had decided that it was time to move in together. They saved up all the money they could over the years to buy a small cottage in the woods. To them the only downside of living there was that they didn't have very good reception for the unfortunate event that something happens to them. They were quite far from the city which would mean a ride to the hospital would be incredibly long. This didn't bother them though since they had any necessary materials for any medical issues and were quite skilled in combat. Alvin studied nuts and needed to be in the wild which was one of the main reasons that they had chosen a house so deep into the woods. Though of course their home was as far away from society so that the lovers could spend more time together rather than with others.
Once done unpacking, Levi felt terribly unwell. He thought it was just because of all the heavy lifting that tired him out, and decided to take a nap. He woke up to find that he felt cold and weaker than he ever has. He tried calling out to Alvin but he was parched and he couldn't manage to. Thirty minutes had passed of Levi unable to call out to his lover for help and he couldn't get out of bed. Alvin had called Levi down for dinner. After a few minutes of waiting, Alvin started to get worried. He ran up to their room and knocked on Levi's door. Receiving no answer, he slowly opened it. Levi had been lying in bed, unable to make noise or even cry. Alvin rushed to his side, panicked."Levi! Are you okay?" Alvin asked, worried. "What's wrong, what happened?"
Levi didn't answer. He couldn't answer. He looked into Alvin's eyes. He wanted to cry but wasn't able to. Alvin jumped up and wrapped his arms around Levi's shoulders as he cried into his chest silently. Alvin let go and got Levi some water to drink. He finally could speak, he could tell Alvin what was wrong."My head aches and I feel so weak.." Levi said. Alvin frowned as he gently moved Levi's bangs out of the way and touched the back of his hand to his forehead.
"Oh darling, you're definitely sick," Alvin muttered.
"I'll be alright, I can walk it off."
"You have to stay in bed. You mustn't work until you get better, I'll stay by your side until you do." Alvin proclaimed. "Your forehead is burning and this fever is clearly serious."
"No, I'm sure it's not that bad-"
"We have to go to the hospital. You stay here until I get you, I'll go get the car started." With that, Alvin left the room. He didn't have to tell Levi to stay put as his body refused to move. He laid there, waiting for Alvin to come back. He pondered the question of what he would've done without his sweetheart. Alvin came back into the room a few minutes later.
"There's no gas in the car, we can't get to the hospital. I'm sorry Levi but we'll have to make do with what we have." He sighed as he sat onto the side of the bed, worried for Levi. He didn't want to leave his side until he fully recovered. He gazed into Levi's blue-grey eyes as they drifted off to sleep. It was the next morning when Levi's eyes opened up slowly. He looked up to see Alvin's tired hazelnut eyes. His eyes were full of sleeplessness, he was afraid Levi would awake and be unable to get help because he wasn't awake. Levi wanted to feel flattered that Alvin would go to such lengths just for him, but knowing how dangerous this type of love could be in the future he felt scared instead.
