Miraculous Slumber Party

~Chapter 7~

Opening the door to the x-ray room the nurse stopped Adrien.

"I'm sorry sir, only patients. Please wait in this room."

Giving Marinette a small wave, she smiled at him. Adrien sat down on the couch in the small waiting room and Plagg flew out of his shirt pocket.

"Wow, you and Marinette huh?!" Plagg said teasing him.

Adrien's face flushed a dark beet red, "Plagg!" he scolded, "She's just a friend!"

Plagg sighed.

"I don't even think she thinks of me in that way," the blond boy said quietly. Even talking to Plagg about Marinette made him feel uncomfortable.

"PUH-lease!" Plagg grabbed Adrien's shirt, "You are the most blind Cat Noir I have ever met!"

Adrien shrugged, he didn't really know what Plagg was on about but his mind drifted to his lady.

Hawkmoth sure hasn't been present recently, he thought, I haven't see Ladybug is at least a week. He smiled at the thought of her. 

"Ahhh Ladybug," he sighed, cupping his chin in his hands.

Crap! He thought blushing again, Did I say that out loud?

Plagg groaned, "Do you have any camembert I'm starving!"

"Sorry Plagg," Adrien shrugged off the request still thinking about Ladybug.

Ladybug.... Ladybug.... Marinette.... The thought was new to him and he blushed thinking about her that way. No... She's just a friend. he tried to assure himself of her friendship. 

The door to the x-ray room opened and Plagg quickly flew back into Adrien's shirt pocket just as Adrien stood up to greet them.

"Follow the red line on the floor please," the nurse said shoving some papers into Adrien's hand.

The students silently made their way down the hall and then Adrien asked.

"Are you okay?" Adrien asked trying to clear some of the tension between them.

Marinette shrugged, "The nurse said that they will assess the x-rays with a doctor."

"No. That's not what I meant," Adrien started awkwardly, "I meant are you okay? Like is it still sore? Do you need me to get you more pain relief?"

Marinette blushed furiously at this question, she didn't know why she felt so. so. so awkward.

"It is a bit sore," She said quietly, keeping her head down so her wouldn't see her pink cheeks.

Adrien stopped her before they came to the next room, "Do you want me to get you anything?" he asked genuinely, staring into her bluebell eyes. 

"I'm fine. Thank you Adrien," the bluenette smiled and pushed open the door.

Adrien could feel Plagg poking him through his pocket and Adrien could hear his voice in his mind.

OOOH!! Adrien has a crush on Marinette!!! What happened to Ladybug?!

She wouldn't like me... We've know each other for years and she hasn't said anything.

He tried to comfort himself but the thought of Marinette's bluebell eyes staring up at him made him smile.

"Adrien?" Marinette asked nudging his arm, "Why are you grinning like that?"

Blushing, Adrien quickly replied, "Umm... I was just grinning about how Alya and Nino ALWAYS have to kiss every time they see each other." It was a lame excuse but it slipped out before Adrien could do anything about it.

Crap! Now she's going to think I'm a creep... Adrien screamed internally.

But why would you care if she thought you were a creep? He could hear Plagg questioning him.

Marinette cocked an eyebrow at this strange remark.

I didn't know Adrien noticed that stuff. She thought as she handed the papers Adrien gave her, to the person at the desk.

"Please have a seat and the doctor will be here soon." The desk person said.

They waited for about 3 minutes in silence and then the doctor called them through.

"So, Miss..." The doctor said looking at her wrist, "Can you tell me what happened?"

Marinette told him the story as he checked over her wrist.

"I see... It seems to me that it is dislocated," he said, "Take a deep breath and I'll pop it back in."

Adrien instinctively grabbed Marinette's good hand and clasped in in his own, giving it a squeeze.

"One."

"Two."

"Three."
