warning: homophobia
August Jiyoung stares at her when she stands in the hallway and Jennie doesn't have a damn clue what to do. If she looks away she'll know that she has seen her sister naked but if she makes eye contact she'll think that she's gloating about the fact that she has seen her sister naked.
And of course, she's now thinking about Chaeyoung naked.
"Hi Jennie," Daehan greets as he runs past in just a t-shirt, his pull-ups making an amusing noise as he runs barefoot across the wooden floor, and she's about to reply but he's already taking off into the next room. "Bye Jennie."
Jennie laughs quietly, "Bye Daehan," she calls after him and then turns to the woman that made his life possible. She still looks terrifying but she's slightly softer after watching the younger girl and, really, it doesn't make or break Jennie's relationship with Chaeyoung if Jiyoung likes her or not but she'd much prefer it if she did. "Uh, hi Jiyoung."
"Was that a question?"
"I...No?"
She hums a little and tilts her head back as she regards Jennie. It's kind of unfair how pretty this family is because even when she's pretty sure Jiyoung is thinking of twenty possible ways to make her disappear, she's totally distracted by the older's bone structure. "Where are you two going today?"
"I think we're just hanging around here," she says but she's still not really sure. Chaeyoung had told her the night before to go home and pack something for swimming, a change of clothes, and to come to the Park house after church. Chaeyoung had been too distracted when Jennie sent her two images of herself in a bikini, asking her to choose which one she preferred, to explain her plans. "She hasn't really said anything."
"It'd make sense. Daehan and I are going to see his dad today with my mom and dad. Kyungsoo is probably running around pretending to be married to that Joohyun girl," Jiyoung explains and Jennie holds back from letting her know that is the most amount of words she has ever spoken aloud to her. "Guess Chaeyoung wants the house to herself for once."
She didn't know that Jiyoung was still in contact with Daehan's father, Chaeyoung insists her sister's personal life isn't something she's willing to talk about without her there, and it makes Jennie preen a little that she's willing to even mention it to her. She doesn't know what Chaeyoung has said to her family but it must have been positive because even if it is still kind of awkward--(being walked in on will do that to the best family, she's sure)--they haven't pushed her away either.
"Oh that'll be nice," she tries to sound like she's not being sarcastic and Jiyoung snorts at that, her arms folding across her chest and Jennie is intrigued by the muscles there. In truth, she knows nothing about the eldest Park sibling but she does know there's more to her story than the surface suggests.
"He's in prison," she says, not holding back. Jennie tries to not look too shocked but she's pretty sure she fails when she genuinely smiles at her reaction. Jiyoung gives her a little shrug like she doesn't care about her opinion--she probably doesn't--and it only serves to remind her that she's used to having people judge her. "He's an okay guy really. He just made way too many stupid decisions in a row and it cost him ten years."
She doesn't want to be one of those people, but. "You still let Daehan see him?"
"Yes," she doesn't look offended but Jennie knows there are only certain lines she can cross as the girlfriend of her sister, and she's edging a little too close to one of them. "We're never going to be together again, he knows that, but Daehan keeps his mind active. He doesn't lose himself knowing that he has a little man out here waiting for him, you know? He isn't dangerous, he's just an idiot. Thought he could make something of himself by taking the easy way."
