Shou Ming
Grimgor
Long ago in ancient China a sorcerer who called himself Grimgor waged war against Shou Ming the oldest son of the last emperor who was mysteriously killed along with his wife and youngest son, the young soon to be emperor of China a brave warrior rallied together with the soldiers of the imperial palace and created an almost unbreakable force.
Nevertheless, Grimgor marched upon the capital with his dark legion of Jiree, a race of monsters and dark creatures sworn to do his bidding.
Grimgor had one thing in his mind: to take the throne and rule all of China, as he thought was his right.
Though try as he might, Grimgor could not stand against Ming and his best warriors. In defeat Grimgor retreated into the Black Forest, in his anger, he cursed all of China to be banished to the Dark Realm. But in his blind rage, he accidentally trapped himself there along with the rest of China, Korea, and Japan slowing up the land, its people, and all their culture to a forgotten place.
From that moment many things changed, a lot that was good vanished, dark creatures and monsters freely roamed the lands, all-time stopped leaving them in that same century while the rest of the world moved forward through time.
But some good remained, the magic that was freely moving through the Dark Realm turned the Zodiacs, Five Elements, and other proctors of mankind into humans with strange abilities. The symbol Yin and Yang were also turned into humans to guard the people of the new land and protect them from the monster that roamed in the dark places of this new world.
Time passed and soon Ming discovered that Grimgor had survived and had been living in the Dark Realm. He sent out spies to find Grimgor's location. What they found was more horrific than they could have possibly imagined. Grimgor had the location of the Black Scroll, it was the only thing that could remerge Jīngshén Lingyu (spirit realm the land of China, Japan, and Korea's new name) with Earth.
Only the Dark Realm would no longer be contained and all of the dark creatures would be released into this world wreaking havoc everywhere they went.
Ming could not let this happen, he could not see the darkness descending upon another world. So he sent out two of his best and most trusted warriors to get the Black Scroll before Grimgor did, Lee Chan and his son Lee Wang traveled to this realm through a portal from the next.
They traveled to the hidden temple high in the Jade Mountains, where the Black Scroll was kept before the war, the Jade Mountain was the only part of China to stay behind in this world, that is only because the black scroll was hidden there.
Chan and Wang retrieved the scroll, but the Jiree followed them there, blocking their retreat, Chan and Wang tried to defeat the mass of monsters, but in the end, Wang was hurt and on the brink of death. Surrounded by the Jiree, Chan had no other choice but to cast a spell on the Black Scroll hiding it somewhere only he knew... somewhere no one could ever find. The surge of magic sent the Jiree fly to the ground, giving Chan enough time to take Wang away from the Jade mountain and the Jiree who hunted them.
Chan traveled until he came to a place that remained him of home, the people there called it China Town in New York, China Town was the remnants of anyone who escaped before the spell was cast all those years ago, the last of their culture.
Chan took Wang to a tea house that a young lady named Yawn Lyn owned, When she saw the hurt soldier and his father, she took them in immediately and helped tend to Wang's wounds.
Weeks passed by and after Wang was better he and Chan stayed to repay their debt to her, helping her in any way they could.
Soon Wang and Lyn fell in love and Wang couldn't bear the thought of leaving her behind, so the young warrior decided to stay with her in this world... and soon they were married.
The three of them lived happily in the tea house for three years, their happiness only grew when Lyn told them that she was pregnant.
Months passed and soon Lyn had a baby boy, they named him Lee Shang.
But their happiness soon faded... two days after Shang's first birthday, the Jiree found them there, Wang tried to protect his family but there was too many Jiree, he was ruthlessly murdered, all alone Lyn trying to protect Shang but she too was killed, the Jiree then turned to the young child, they advance forward, by then Chan had come to see what the noise was, out of pure rage and sadness Chan vanquished the Jiree, they faded away turning into golden dust, leaving Chan to mourn his lost son and daughter-in-law, the only comfort Chan had was his young grandson Shang who Chan would now have to raise alone in his sorrow and guilt.
