Snow's P.O.V.
(Pic of Fortress)
I stalked back and forth in my room, when Dusk entered the room I glanced at her before pacing back and forth, repeating the part of the mission where we all sneaked into the warehouse and out of the warehouse with the other shifters completely unscathed.
"It was too easy," I said.
"There has to be a catch," I murmured going through the scene in my mind.
Turning to face Dusk I noticed how worried she looked causing a spart of concern to hit me.
"Are you okay?" I asked her softly taking a step forward so I was standing right in front of her.She shook her head to my question.
"Mountian!" I called causing him to quickly make his way to my room, when he walked in he saw Dusk and shut the door behind him.
"What's wrong dear?" he asked as I stepped backwards to allow her to talk to him.
"My powers have reached the next level, I saw HIM and then I saw a different face and I felt like I was in a different dimension. It was all blue," Dusk said softly.
I felt my features twist into a grim look as I waited for her to continue talking.
But, Mountain said,"I will figure that out later. Now what else do you want to tell us?"
"I was thinking, since we have so many new people, that we could transform this cabin into a fortress if that's what you would call it," she murmured.I raised an eyebrow at her statement, "And how long have you been thinking of this?"
I questioned beginning to glare at her as a sheepish look covered her face.
"Well, since I spoke to you bout it a few days ago," she said as she leaped up and ran out of the room returning with a rolled up blueprint, she shoved it towards me knowing that I was the builder. Scratching my head as I looked at the blueprints and went through it with my mind.
"I thought you were kidding when you said that, but.... give me eight months, three tons of cement, seven tons of blocks, one ton of glass, and a couple of tons of metal poles and I should have this done, but I'm not gonna expand the cabin, I'm gonna make a whole new building," I said with a grin.Dusk widened her eyes before nodding and leaving to take the order to Nikolai and Strider for them to take it to their work.
"You seriously making a fortress?" Rubix ask dashing into the room like her hair was on fire.
"Yep, you wanna be my helper?" I asked, grinning as she nodded her head up and down like a bobble head, I was almost worried it would fall right off.
Walking out I noticed that our entire gang was dressed up for work causing me to roll my eyes, laying out the blueprint I sent out the groups. We needed to word on the outside first."Jay, Swift, Strider and I will work on the corners, which is where the bedrooms are going to be, Reed, Nikolai, Chester and Dusk I want you four to focus on the straight sides, remember to leave room for my team, Rubix and Mountian you guys are going to be making sure everyone is hydrated and fed, you are also going to stick around in case we need something alright?" I questioned and everyone agreed.
Dusk's team quickly attacked the sides.
"Rubix can you hand me four poles?" Reed called from where he was perched against the side.Time passed quickly and soon the sun had fallen, I leaped off the side of the building and looked around to see Echo nowhere in sight, shrugging my shoulders I tiredly stumbled into our home. We had gotten a spiral and a wall done and were soon starting on the second, I was surprised by how fast we were working. Plopping down on a chair next to Dusk I quickly dug into todays meal, it was homemade lasangna, turns out that Rubix was a great cook. I went through, in my mind, all of the things that I had learned today.
Jay was a controller of the wind, Rubix, surprisingly, had light, Swift controlled fire, Chester controlled earth, and Reed controlled water. Once I had finished my meal I went to bed and soon slipped into a deep sleep.
Days turned to weeks, weeks to months and soon we were nearing the end of our project, a complete three months earlier than planned. All we needed to do was furnish the place, we figured out that the first pillar belonged to the girls. The fortress had an astonishing five floors, it had thirty bedrooms all with their own bathroom, there was a large kitchen and even had a walkway which I thought was cool. We settled that we all would get to design our own rooms, Rubix had taken me as a role model and I was comforted by how she acted much like Ghost.
One day I was walking back to the old house when a sudden gust of wind threw me against the side of the house causing me to grunt, a familiar short, blond haired figure stepped out of the darkness followed by Jay, who had blown me against the house. Her usually kind face had a dark and sinister smirk that gave her features an ugly twist.
"Echo what are you doing?" I hissed attempting to get off of the wall but the wind only added pressure.
"I'm sure you've had your suspicions, well Boss wants you gone, turns out you were right about me," she said with a wry smirk causing me to hiss, anger flooding my veins.I sent out a spike of ice that send her flying backwards, she snorted in anger as she leapt to her feet but did not charge. Instead she pulled out a very large scythe and pointed it straight at me.
"Traitor!" I screamed as I leapt forward, a sharp blade came flying towards me, hitting me straight in the stomach but I ignored it. Instead I grabbed the blade and flipped it.
"Please don't," she begged, but I slammed the hilt straight to her face, which went from pleading to a sinister grin.
"Snow! What did you do!" Dusk shout made my blood run cold causing me to drop the scythe and spin to face her.The entire group was staring at me in horror.
'No! She planned this!' I thought as my eyes widened and anger filled Dusk as she leaped forward. Transforming in her wolf form in mid air, no one noticed the wound on my belly, she tackled me to the ground. Snapping at my face as I barely held her off by pressing upwards on her neck.
"Look, Dusk! We both had suspicions," I shouted but she would not listen to me.
She was finally able to latch her jaws on my neck, which she did angrily, but still not going to kill, as she tossed me to the side as if I was a rag doll.
'She won't listen,' I thought with a pang of hurt.'Does she truly not trust me that much, would she really believe that I would do that,' I thought clutching my stomach in attempt to stop the blood.
Dusk noticed the gesture and her eyes widened just as we heard,"Dusk wait!"
Striders voice rang out as he struck Jay, whose eyes were glowing red, over the head with a log. Striders voice faded in and out as Dusk skidded to a stop in front of me, the uncontrollable anger that was in her gaze had faded as she saw the hole in my stomach and the wound on my neck. "Snow!" she screamed in tears shifting human as I fell forward and my world faded black.'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
